Also testing censorship: [censored]

edit: Incredibly, the word "i d i o t" is still deemed too offensive to print.

Certain words in and of themselves might not seem offensive. But when you call someone an [censored] they certainly get offended and that is what we are avoiding. Can't we all just [censored] get along.

Instead of [censored] can the new software add an appropriate euphemism instead.

So for example [censored] could be [Tom Morris].

The majority of the changes are cosmetic and under the hood improvements. Basic functionality including the profanity filter remain. Please don't test it or try to circumvent it. The functionality of banning has not changed. If anything the frustration with the upgrade issues and losing sleep last night getting the look and feel of the site ready for today has made me even grumpier. Don't test the limits of this mod.

Love your work guys

All the time you spend maintaining the site is greatly appreciated

Very good point on donation.

For those that can https://demonland.com/clients/donations/ and help get to the goal: Raised 1,435.00 AUD of 2,000.00 AUD target

This new look and interface is much better.

Is it possible to donate with direct deposit from a bank account?

Demonland 's....Bsb and account number?

Tx.

So this is what the dark web is?

can I grab some [censored] please?

Ooo the notification bar and menu has moved to the bottom of the screen on Android. Threw me for a loop but think I'll prefer it going forward!

So far reaction from my colleagues involved *blink* and "oh congrats! Also can we discuss about that client email"

Hi Andy, I've discovered that I cannot post or quote posts with the new version on my ipad. Everything else seems to be ok. I can scroll and read posts but just cannot post or respond. It has the latest update for this version of ipad (although its a reasonably old ipad). It works fine on my phone and laptop. Are you able to tell me please what the minimum update requirement is to run this on ipad? Or could it be another issue? (obviously I'm sending this from my laptop)

Thanks

I would say it is 100% related to it being an old ipad. Particularly if the ipad no longer receives regular updates if at all. I have no idea what the minimum update requirement would be as this is just a hunch on my part that that is what is the issue.

Prominent and Red look very similar to me but now I’m typing it out and changing between the two every few words I can see there is a slight difference.

Good job on the upgrade and thanks for your hard work.

Nice work matey… looking good!

Great job team. Incredible dedication and hard work just for our entertainment. Well done.

Not that I want to revisit this image but for some reason, can't open this one (https://demonland.com/forums/topic/61182-buying-waverley-park/#findComment-2607902). Just comes up blank on browsers (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) when I click on it

I wasn't considering using the naughty word to abuse other Demonlanders.

It's a word I might use to describe certain opposition supporters and players, umpires and members of the media.

Don't worry Andy, I'll play nice!

Several users have reported issues when trying to post from their iPads. However, I haven't yet received specific details regarding the age of their iPads or whether they are running the latest software updates. Older iPads often stop receiving software updates from Apple, which classifies them as 'end of life.' Consequently, these older devices and outdated software versions may encounter compatibility problems not only with this site but also with other websites and applications. Unfortunately, resolving these compatibility issues is beyond my control.

Great idea on the donations. I've just chipped in a pineapple so Andy and Nasher can share a beer when they're next at the G.

Love the upgrade fellas. Job well done.

Thanks Andy. If it's a compatibility issue, then I can understand that. But as it is only certain functions not working, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't an issue with the new version.

Ah I think the podcast file links need to be reconnected for certain podcast apps, @Demonland (so I can listen to this week's pod for the third time lol)

Before I assist you here. What the hell is going on with that font?

This you can definitely blame on @Nasher . Not the font but the missing podcast files.

He rightly removed them from the backup before we did the upgrade last night but forgot to put them back. Sabotage?

Try it now and let me know.

Please try posting from a different device to see if you are able to post. See if there is a software update available (Settings > General > Software Updates). If you can could you let me know which iOS software version you are running (Settings > General > About > iOS Version.

I've reviewed the software manufacturer's forums for any similar issues, and it appears that most reported problems involve older devices or devices that haven't received recent software updates.

Personally, I've successfully posted using an iPad that's a couple of years old without any issues. I'll also test tonight using my children's iPads, which are even older (but not ancient and most likely up to date with their software), to further investigate the matter.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
