Moore deserved punishment for the knee BUT they also cleared Hugh Jackson for his knee on Zorko, so they're at least being a little consistent here. Both deserved punishment however.

Absolutely both should have been SUSPENDED

Garry Lyon says Brody Mihocek is "lucky" to cop a fine, rather than a ban.

COLLINGWOOD forward Brody Mihocek has been fined for his dangerous push on Richmond gun Nick Vlastuin on Sunday.

Mihocek gave away a free kick after pushing Vlastuin into two oncoming players during the second quarter of the Magpies' 36-point win at the MCG.

The Match Review Officer charged Mihocek with rough conduct, grading the incident as careless conduct, low impact and body contact.

Mihocek can accept a $1500 fine with an early plea.

THE AFL SAID TO STAMP THIS OUT

BUT THE MRO MICHAEL CHRISTIAN IGNORES THAT AND SUPPORTS HIS PIES HERITAGE

Maybe Christian once again threatened to resign - sadly he didn’t.

Surely it is well past time to review the appointment - his bias towards his club is once again bleeding obvious. The AFL would confirm rumours of corruption if he is not replaced.

So these mugs are still fining players who are potentially guilty of an offence that is going to cause the permanent disabling of another player. And it has become the norm.

Only Pies player suspended is Houston. Expect next year his loading from previous Port suspensions will magically disappear.

So what is the actual point of the appeals board?

Seems like a crock of 💩 to me.

I find the fact that held his job literally insane.

Imagine have a disagreement at work about your role, then leaking to the press that you’re going to resign if they overrule you, and being able to keep your job with no ramifications?

It’s unbelievably spineless.

Pearce off, May not off.

Clueless does not begin to describe the current system.

The egg shortage is preventing me from hurling eggs at AFL house.

Actually the MRO is very consistent.

Nothing to see for Cats or Pies players.

Moore

Mihocek

Dangerfield

And … Tom Stewart

Tom Stewart - launched himself. Duty of care? The potential to cause injury doesn't count this week!

Liam Ryan ran at Rivers late, jumped into him and clashed heads. Rivers went off injured and bleeding from a head wound and Ryan not even cited.

After the May decision, how is that even possible?

My wife said to me what did Ryan get for head butting Riv, I said didn’t even get cited..!!

A difficult one and I stand to be corrected, but Archer appeared to get up and walk away after the incident, without showing any immediate concern for the concussed Bulldogs’ player. A North team mate did however.

That is disappointing if correct.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
