Seems Archer was at least 5 metres away before Dogs player got hands to the ball, then Dogs player pushed in the back by another Roos players making him slide down and forward towards Archer. Archer seems a tad too late to the contest and with too much momentum braces for impact to draw a free as his only option. His knees hit Dogs player's head unfortunately.

A difficult one and I stand to be corrected, but Archer appeared to get up and walk away after the incident, without showing any immediate concern for the concussed Bulldogs’ player. A North team mate did however.

That is disappointing if correct.

Archer’s 3 weeks upheld.

I’d suspect Fritsch will sleep well this week.

As long as he stops sleeping during the match.

If Archer had his leg broken would the outcome be the same?

I very much doubt it

I hope Archer learned his lesson from this. Ignore what your dad taught you. Don’t attack the contest hard

And if a bloke gets pushed in the back and almost breaks your legs, try to run away and don’t get hit

The MRO and AFL continues to be a laughing stock

Speaking of which and veering off topic for a moment (I think it's justified) ...

Can anyone honestly swear that having an ex Collingwood player as MRO passes the pub test?

Unbelievable that Lobb didn’t get weeks

How is Archer feeling?

I honestly feel that it shouldn't be a role someone stays in for more than 3 years in any case. But Michael Christian does feel like he has favourites and takes others down harder.

I can't work out the Archer decision, if the dogs player stays on his feet then it's just another contest, but because he gets a push in the back and falls to ground Archer gets punished for what I can see as an unavoidable collision. And yet Maynards was a "football act".

Lobby knew what he was doing.  And the Fox crew reckon it was just an accident!!

But because it was a filth player who has done his fair share of sniping himself, he got his right whack

Lobb should’ve been suspended. I don’t care if it was a Collingwood player or some bloke from Nar Nar Goon’s seconds. That was not an accident.

this was pretty much my take on it

he punched him in the face

i mean, someone needed to, sure, but it was as deliberate an accident as you could wish to see

I mean it's a pretty clear conflict of interest if ever there was

Relax @biggestred, at some point the AFL will hold an internal review.
