Lot of LOVE for this thread

My favorites Casper Ruud and Elena Rybakina both gone. At least Alcaraz is still in the draw, and hopefully he knocks out [censored].

The beauty of being a huge tennis, Aussie Rules and Soccer fan. If the Dees flop I turn to the tennis season watching my favorite players, if they flop (Casper Ruud often does) I revert back to Melbourne. If Melbourne aren’t too flash I go watch Tottenham… 😂😂😂

Round 1 against GWS cannot come quick enough…

Jeez, a likeable, classy, humble player gracing a post-match on-court interview with Jim Courier. Well done, Alex de Minaur!

Why does Djokovic always try and play the victim card?

I know it’s that twerp Tony Jones, but show a bit of backbone mate. Stick it right up the muppet.

Typical crude comment

asking the GOAT to leave

Tony Jones should be stood down.

That’s what he has done.

Go Demon!

The Demon Man is the only thing keeping me engaged in tennis this year, everyone else seems more intent on off court dramas that it’s turned the AO into the Grand Slam version of Married at First Sight - everyone more interested in creating drama for [censored] and giggles that we’ve all forgotten what the whole point of the event is.

The problem with Chompers is he thinks he's the funniest person in the room. If Spud was still with us he would absolutely eviscerate Chomp.

He thinks he’s an A-lister……………….he didn’t even get an invite to ‘I’m a celebrity’

theres still plenty to watch.

If you saw Vukic play Draper you would have seen not only the best tennis so far but the exploitation of skill and lack of. (Drapers backhand is seriously poor) Alcaraz then beat Draper but did show that he couldnt alter his game to exploit that weakness. Demon has plenty to work for to progress past him. (Unfortunately Alcaraz is such a dominant erratic player he has enough weapons of his own to beat most opponents ).With Sinner and Dojokavic both showing distractions from their tennis playing it is an interesting tournaments. There are no certainties unlike the years of the triumverate Roger, Raffa and Joker.

the vision of sinner having the shakes yesterday was pretty frightening

tonight's match-up between djoker and alcaraz is going to be a rippier i think

and then tomorrow for demon vs sinner should be a pearler too

The tennis has been fantastic (as it always is)

And with players like Alcaraz, Swiatek, Djokovic, Sabalenko & Sinner about, what's not to like?

And the Demon of course!

Danielle giving it to the mob - magnificent!!  Smart, savvy and the lady has got gumption!

Novak was correct with his stance and Tony Jones should be tossed.  He's an embarrassment to himself and the country

I’m not a TJ fan, in fact I’d celebrate the day he retires. However Novak handled the situation very poorly and just shows that he doesn’t understand Aussie culture.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
