He was the scapegoat yesterday for an unaccountable Salem, who was running around doing a lot of pointing

According to Caro in her article this morning, McVee “looks likely to depart”.

This is one of the strangest situations I can recall. Every indication is that he wants out except for the complete opposite indication coming from@Ghostwriter and @Dannyz .

I'd trust Ghosty before Caro she always wrong. She is just another jornalist parrasite

I wouldn't be fooled by his reduced output this year. Has had a delayed start at a confused club.

He has the combination of grit and silk which we sorely need.

The kid is quality and I would be shattered to see him walk.

Regardless of any talk on here from GW or journo’s, I’m concerned. The facts are the club is very quiet with any positive news of a signing. The clubs used contract signings last year as a tool for harbour hope and direction. The silence here is deafening.

Im only taking one aspect seriously.

He HASN'T signed.

No reason not to.... ( that we know of )

Why ?

Doesn’t matter whose scuttlebutt is aired... the fact remains he's unsigned.

Strikes me as odd and a concern.... irrespective of anyone's assurances

My concern here is in a year when our young talent and commitment is more important as it is clear our premier window is closed, the club is not making any announcements. Particularly after the win this weekend.

I’m hopeful it’s announced in the next two days on slower news days. Without an announcement this weekend, it’s more likely he has not signed and he is open to moving elsewhere.

Last year’s announcements were on the back of we can bounce back as contenders.

This , i believe , is in Judd's court. He's holding out. Club can't announce what it hasn't got.

Why is he baulking ??

Money? If he can get an extra $100k+ per year elsewhere on a longer contract, why not hold out?

He's seen plenty of others at the club get nice, big fat contracts so why not get in for his chop

Should we now be expecting a signing in light of the Goodwin news? Telling, if so.

This might not be the case. But something was/is causing him to baulk. It had crossed my mind is he waiting to seasons end, or thereabouts, to see the lay of the land. Could be more than just the coaching. 🤷‍♂️ might be nothing to do with coaching 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Intriguing though for sure.

But Ghost also said Goodwin was here to stay, so hard to know what will eventuate.

Funny thing the Media, they love to talk about our deemise, and no info about Mc Vee going so they decided to fill the vacuum. And fill it they have.

Interesting..

This caught my eye too

Hard to tell if this is just Ralphy connecting the dots but would be poor man management by Goodwin to have flagged this with him at the start of the season and then never delivered (ditto for Rivers in the midfield)

McVee will be a weapon if unleashed. As commented before we need him in whatever role we were trying to mould Windsor into in defence.

Bowza & McVee need to control our ball movement from defence.

Wouldn't mind seeing McVee on the wing at center bounce. Not quite physical enough to be a starter mid, but great runner, great skills and can involved at stoppage still.

Interesting..

Unless the new coach is six time All-Australian half back flanker Corey Enright.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
