meh.  looks a bit like a lolly wrapper.

royal blue clash is good enough

I'd like to see a "reverse" jumper, red with a blue yoke (royal or navy).

why?  we've already got the 2 best looking guernseys in the league 😁

We've got the best jumper in the league and the best clash strip in the league. I wouldn't be looking to make any changes.

If he actually did that he probably should be fired for that then

A beautifully targeted joke...

Bugger.. had I known it was at Myrtleford today I would have called in a sickie and made the trek down the highway with my young fella.

Similar

Got to squash in Milawa to be told by other locals that training was at Myrtleford.

Cue jokes about Myrtleford flogging the Dees, avoiding the heartache,... etc,

I received notice that there were 36 members in postcode 3747 the same day but no notice that training was happening in my backyard.

And for all those posters who lamented he didn't look happy at the camp and none of his insta posts had him in demon gear, I'd love them to take a big bite form humble pie:  he looks very happy and proud in his demons training gear having fun with teammates.

Geez Luci, it was just an observation from a couple of track watchers who went out of their way to report back to you guys. The comments made were no different from what other track watchers observe about other players at training in Melbourne. You don't need to shame people because you don't agree with what was said. You weren't there.

Sources say that when they were up, they were up.

It's going to end with a mid-table finish, then...

Fair comments, djr.  I wasn't referring to your reports which I enjoyed.  If my comment offended you I apologise.

I wasn't referring to observations per se.  It was the conclusions by some re Petracca not posting about the club/teammates on IG, not wearing mfc gear on his IG, caring only about his brand etc etc implying he had 'checked out' or 'didn't care' (paraphrasing).  Those trigger the anti-Trac brigade and the off-season stuff is rehashed.

djr, shaming others isn't ever my style - if it was I would have quoted them.

I just hope we don't spend the year questioning his commitment/behaviour or defending it.  If that happens each week I'll be the one checking out, of DL.  fwiw, I would feel the same if anyone playing for our beloved demons was discussed that way.

If memory serves, he was leading Chas this year until kneed. Could be his year.

Certainly hope not.
Would like to think they have got that out of their system.
Much fitter squad this year than the past couple. Whatever surgeries required have been completed before pre-season started.
Along with natural improvement from younger players.
I hold high expectations as should they.

Thanks, Disco 😄

Demonland, ignore my smartypants reference to the nursery rhyme. I'm with Disco on the expectations (gulp!) 😄

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
