Do we need four or five topics/threads discussing the same thing on Demonland?

I thought posters on here knew where to look?

If you know where to look then by all means do it.

No need for you to open every thread associated with this matter.

Maybe on the one you choose you can give the rest of us the Board's view, you seem to be pretty close to them.

Sorry, not sorry. Did a search and there were no other POLLS about this topic

Who will be the first domino to go? I would think Richo will be the first followed by Pert.

We've picked up a few Saints discards over the last few years and none of them have proven to be of value.

Have I missed something? Is there a massive unspoken issue that the media are prodding at like an unlanced boil?

14th Home and Away.

Even the usual apologists are very quiet or starting to agree that we're failing to be acceptable, let alone exemplary.

Negative "puke football" that fans don't want to watch and good players want to play.

And it doesn't even win us home and away games anymore.

Not to mention that we didn't even get to bomb out of finals without firing shots.

At least 3 of our best footballers going or wanting to leave (that we know if so far).

No discernible progress on a home base.

Disastrous communications.

The issues we can't talk about.

Culture or questionably Sub-par Culture?

Memberships and sponsors will start deserting.

I wish there were some positives bar a few promising young kids.

If we don't need a full review and changes already based on the above, then how bad does it need to get?

Hmm just about to have breakfast! That last line delayed things.

I am thinking this too, and if this is the case you can bet your bottom dollar Trac and everyone else knows and they're pushing hard for something to affect change.

Hope not.

To run the review? No thanks

It's a difficult question.

I mean I believe there are some issues but  I feel airing them and washing our linen in public could make matters worse.

The media would love it .

An internal one would be best.

What would be an issue that divides players and causes some to want to leave?

Could it be the forbidden topic and future repercussions for players caught up in it?

Or is it simply the restrictive style of dour football that will consign players to obscurity and mediocrity like Saint Kilda?

I would probably get shouted down for this suggestion, but I wouldn't be against Kane Cornes and/or David King being part of an external review.

However, with Christian Petracca now recommitting to the Melbourne Demons I don't think we will see an external review happen. It will be another internal review now.

Will that be good enough though?

It will all depend on how successful next year in 2025 will be. It it's another stinker like this year then heads will need to roll.

Anyone that doesn't think we need a robust external review, from the board down, is drunk at the wheel.

But I don't think those on our board will want to undermine their ineptitude.

We need an external review about as much as we need a specific former club president to be reinstated...

... as much as all 17 other AFL clubs need an external review...

... as much as we need Morris back in our comms...

... as much as we need to relocate to the old version of Junction Oval...

... as much as we need Adrian Anderson to represent the next MFC player to appeal a suspension...

... as much as we need the Angry Batmobile to lead the team through the banner at the G each home game...

Get my drift?

No.

We need one.  A bit like West Coast did in 2008.  Because the noise around that club stank and it needed an independent review.   https://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/club/history/2008

Hopefully, the outcome will be the same as West Coasts and it ticks off the leadership and steps they have taken to address our annus horribilus.  The parents of our number 5 pick need to trust the leadership of our club.

You have to be one of our board members. You've been writing absolute twaddle for pages now.

If there is nothing wrong, an external review would show nothing is wrong.

Why do you not want the entire club to be held accountable?

Actually he is not, is it twaddle because you don't agree with his opinion, everybody can have an opinion on here, it won't impact anything.

The players and staff have been told not to read Demonland, apart from the posters the only other readers are journalists and pundits, or click baiters to give them their proper title now.

I find it hilarious that everybody is calling for a review, reviews happen at the end of every season, both from a footy viewpoint and administrative.

And unlike on here, everybody is listened to.

You can't ask the board to review themselves. And I and many others do not trust Pert. And clearly Trac wasn't listened to the first time he voiced his concerns last year.

Whether the review is external or internal, just don't make any of the recommendations or findings public. Take on board, implement, but announce none of it.

How does Gary Pert sleep at night knowing you don't trust him.

And again what are the issues the board need to review?

Do we review the supporters who didn't turn up on a Saturday night and embarrassed the club?

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
