Hopefully i'll be fine too - koz is an exception to my rule of not getting too upset about a gun dees player leaving.

I don't' have a number on my jumper (was going to get 10, but didn't get around to it - where do you get a number added these days?) but if Koz resigns i'm gonna but the Indigenous jumper his dad designed (which is my second fav) and proudly put 36 on it.

The Demon Shop sells jumper numbers and they have an industrial press (a household iron isn’t hot enough). They charge $13 per numeral.

Best to call them before heading in because they don’t have every number in stock at all times.

How long have you been waiting to use that one? 🤣

As long as I've been waiting for Melbourne to win a final.

They don't have numbers 0 thru 9 in stock at all times?

Take up too much space? Too complex? They only sell 43 sets?

'Sorry binman I know you want kozzie's number but we're all out of 3s sorry.

Can I interest you in a Windsor - half the the price!

Or I think we can do you a Laurie - wait hold on, sorry we're all out of 1s too.

How about a Jed or a Jai.

Alternatively, how about we put a 6 in place and you come back at a later date and we you can add the 3 - good valuw as you can have a salo flr a while and its insurance in case koz doesn't resign'

I only know this because I ran into one of the girls who works there and told her I’d be bringing in two jumpers for *Pauline Fritsch and she said she’d make sure they had two 3s and two 1s in stock.

*seems I’m an habitual name dropper, huh Ethan @Ethan Tremblay

$12.5 mil over 7 years is big. Doesn't matter which way you slice it.

Think it's a great move by the club but not without risk.

IMO the AFL need to set maximum contract length, at 5 years. Save clubs from themselves, and benefits the AFL with more player movement.

How long are AFL executives Contracts? Any idea?

They've run out of sixes, but have a surplus of nines.

That sounds a bit upside down…

Just SO SO SO jealous. What these clowns don't realise is the draw factor, so I'm not gonna tell them. It's the crowd factor, and most of all it's the good Club factor....

This is bloody fantastic news!

hope he celebrates with a reckless bump 😬😊👍🏻

If we pay Kozzie a mint it will be the death of the Dees. We need to be spending our money on getting a decent forward and another quality mid.

Kozzie, Jackson swap could still happen thou you would not think so. Perhaps Jackson could go to the pies or cats.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
