KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!

Kossie is a game changer. Pay him what he wants (and deserves)

A bit of a joke... Freo not willing to pay the dollars or give up the player.

Now the media can move onto Harley R

PS: I'd almost be happy if LJ moved to Geelong.

☠️Geelong have plenty of salary cap room. Ffs. Should add either Reid and Rowell to their list next year. Paying Bowes $800,000 a year in forward contract too. AFL will look the other way.

Annoyed!!

Armed Rebellion more like it…

Love having my namesake Aaron Davey back at the footy club of late. Done some amazing things for Cairns Lions as a coach and even took them to a flag of recent.

7 year deal offered, which would make him one of the highest paid players in the game

I guess we will see if money can make up for home sickness.

Kosi can set himself, his partner, and his daughter (and future children) up for life.

He won't get that money at Freo, as they simply don't have the cap space with Young, Jackson, Brayshaw, Serong, and Bolton all taking up significant cap for a very long time. Even an extra $200k a year, over 7 years, so a ludicrous amount of money to walk away from. Careers are short, and life is long.

He'd be silly to turn this down.

agreed

and, ultimately, the contracts ain't worth much these days - if at any stage he wants to go to wa / sa to be closer to family, trades can always be negotiated

Thats a laughable excuse. Any club would find the cap space required for a player like Kozzie if he a) wanted to play for them b) the had the picks and players to enable a deal.

Agreed. Kozzie will be the best small forward in the league. Just needs to iron out a few more rough edges.

Dees have to splash the cash for him!

Im 100% in the keep Kozzy camp. This feels a little too long. A 5 year extension (on top of the 2) would have been more ideal. At the end of the day its probably what it will take to outdo anything that Freo may throw his way.

What if all this noise was just to spook MFC and that GW was right from day 1.

Worth every part of it.

Please sign Kozzie..

Asap plus ....

I've seen the three best players to pull on boots in the last seventy years Baldock, Jesaulenko and Flower and he is better than all of them

Just bearing in mind he is actually playing in todays conditions.

9 years seems a lot but I’m guessing we wanted to table an offer that no team could beat in terms of value or length.

One of the very best in the comp, can swing a game by himself amazing to watch and will put bums on seats for the next decade.

So this would kick in after the current contract or does it also change the value of the contract he is on?

Thought you had it wrong... but you're right

Way too long

Practically if he wants to go to WA only the Eagles could come close to matching this deal and giving us the necessary trade capital.

9 years all up, and not playing for Port?

Kane Cornes will love this...

Fantastic work by the club if this gets done. Genuinely could become a top 5 player in the comp imo.

i think he is definitely worth it.

not much more the club can do.

up to kossie now

Interesting that the offer has leaked.

It was probably intentional in that it was designed to blow the competition out of the game.

Hope we wrap it up quickly

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
