Someone’s head needs to roll. Pert needs to leave yesterday.

I listened to Dane Swans podcast (and lost 20 IQ points) and also learned that Swan and the players didn’t like Pert at all. They were joking about how people who don’t like him don’t call him ā€œPertyā€ and Swan said the playing group had plenty of other names for him.Ā
Ā

He is quite fond of Eddie. And said even though he was a nuffie he was passionate and professional.Ā

I’m sure plenty will denigrate Swan as no brain surgeon, but he definitely does not GAF and is very honest.Ā

I am now liking Pert even more. You're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Mate he had a horror year and couldn't get the money he was offered last year. He's taken the $ and security and will back himself to get back to that value...and then requestĀ

Again, source?

He's making [censored] up

He could take the $ and security we've offered.....at Adelaide, if he really wanted

So a premiership player and Brownlow medallist who has close connections to that playing group, can’t Ā have an opinion on the CEO he played under for 9 years, his whole career basically.Ā
Ā

Tell me how that’s irrelevant?

You talked about leaks I was talking about finding number 2s

This is [censored]. Essendon didn't have an exodus this bad after they got their players banned for PED's we're having one three years after a flag. FML this club.

Is this conjecture or inside knowledge?Ā

I love the likes from the same ole same ole. If your agenda is to continually take the negative and blaming point of view, take interest in another club. Supporters you are not, along with the cronies on here.Ā

This is devastating news. To make matters worse Fremantle bigfooty 2024 List Management Thread are already welcoming Kozzie Pickett to Fremantle. It's going to be more draft capital we got in return for Luke Jackson.Ā

We wouldn’t dream of trading him for less than Sarong or YoungĀ

His family, at least his immediate family live pretty far from Adelaide and Perth. So I imagine the homesickness will be there regardless of where he lives.Ā

Ā

I thought his partner is Victorian so who knows. He lived with Uncle Byron when he shifted to SA to further his footy and schooling so it's hard to work out his home town.

We saw his home town in the doco.

He will never not be homesick. But homesickness does not always mean trade.Ā
He was home sick last year too and re-signed for 4 years. Could have signed for 2, could have left.Ā

I think the media is working over time to try and feast on steaming carcass that is our club.Ā

His partner is originally a Darwin girl.

I believe her sister lives in Melbourne tooĀ

When did Neeld start working with the playing group again????

Didn't his management just come out and say he has no interest and leaving, as long as an NT team isn't around?Ā

Yeah, what's happened in the last week to change that I wonder? šŸ¤”

Why has Morris mentioned that Pickett’s reason is ā€œdirection of the clubā€? That’s completely false. How does channel 9 let that go on the air?

Also I believe @WalkingCivilWarĀ mentioned that Kozzy’s partner has family in Melbourne which has been helpful with the new baby.

No it is not. But it’s also not outlandish to think that he said he’s feeling a bit homesick but he wants to stick around and the media is just feeding on our dead carcass.Ā

If this was raised in the exit meeting, it stands to reason someone in that meeting has let it be known to the media. Either we have the dumbest club officials going around or it came from Kozzie.

Hmm on second thoughts maybe we have media embedded in our exit meetings, would explain a hell of a lot.

Could have come from someone Kosi casually chatted to perhaps. Could have also been completely taken out of context.Ā

One journalist said he’s homesick. Another is saying it’s the direction of the club.Ā
I have people who know him better than these journalists who are saying he’s very happy.

His manager came out only last week and said he’s happy at Melbourne.Ā
Ā

I have no idea where this came from, but I don’t think there’s much to it other than genuine desire to spend more time at home, which is miles and miles and miles away from any football club, not just ours.

We have always been very supportive of him and his family connections and the only thing I believe in this report is that the club and his manager are confident it can be worked out.Ā

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
