Also @Redleg, I passed on your message to KFW verbatim. He was quite touched by it. He told me he’s spoken to Tommy (I have nfi who Tommy is but I think he’s a conditioning guy) and they want him to gain 5kg over the preseason. Kyah said he personally wants to gain 10kg which would bring him up to 110kg. For the mathematically challenged, that means he’s currently 100kg which we both agreed was not ideal for a giraffe. He said the plan is for him to ‘fill out’ and I tell you what, if he can bulk up, look out opposition of all denominations… he’ll be formidable. 👊🏼

Glad you used the word ‘People’. They’re all regular human beings with feelings just like us.

Maysie looked great! Not hampered in any way at all. And he’s stoked to be playing tomorrow night. He came straight over to the boys from Santa Teresa and the reception was heartwarming. He was in an awesome mood.

May is playing?

The Injury Report said that he was out for the season? This could be the first time there has been a Mystery Return from Injury of the Week.

He told me on Monday he was playing and said the same today. 🤷‍♀️

Mission accomplished: told Staffy huge thanks for everything and he smiled that disarming smile of his. Told him I’d give him a hug except I don’t have the proper footwear for scaling a mountain so he bent down and the hug was very sad.

Today many of the partners and kids of the players were there. Chatted with Georgie, Nibs’ partner, that was also sad. Talked to Ruby, Tmac’s partner, that was vey cheerful since pregnancy really suits her and coz Leo was dressed up for Book Week as a surgeon complete with green scrubs, a stethoscope and the cap and even those disposable little slippers they wear. Hashtag painfully cute.

The kids were all kicking a ball around on the boundary and of course I got hit in the head but it was okay coz it was Melk’s son Teddy who’d kicked it. 😂

JV7 was JV10 for today coz he couldn’t find a clean #7 jumper. We talked about Staffy and Jack was pretty emotional, as was his partner Charlotte. ☹️

Big hugs for Claz. He told me he missed me on Monday (even though it was him who was a no-show 😅) said he’s feeling well now and as always he was happy and smiling and laughing and a more effective tonic you’d be pushing to find. We said our usual goodbye… me: Loveya Claz. Him: I love you too. Bless his affection little heart.

Had chats and laughs with a group of boys from Santa Teresa in Alice who are here for four days and are attending the match tomorrow. Not a single Dees supporter among them. Worse still, Essendon and Collingwood supporters! I let ‘em know exactly how we feel about their teams. If they should decide to forgo the match and instead hide in their hotel rooms it’s got nothing to do with me. 😁

But the biggest and bestest thing was what Kozzie’s partner Ardu told me, after I was done gushing about Bellanie aka cutest lil baby I’ve ever seen in my entire life… and I’ve had three of my own! Anyways, she told me her sister lives near her and is her best friend and there’s no way they’d move away from Melbourne. This was having just told me Bellanie’s not sleeping well atm therefore Ardu is tired throughout the day, and me asking her if she has enough support in Melbourne.
So, terribly *sorry Cornes et al, you can stop fantasising about our Kozzie because he’s exactly that… OUR kozzie. End of story

* so NOT sorry by any stretch, delusional [censored]-ers

Did they pull you aside for HIA no thanks to Teddy?

Thanks Walking, I am not a prolific poster but am most definitely an avid consumer of your training reports.  You paint a wonderful picture without any pretentions to knowing what is going on inside the club.  This to me is what makes your posts so special. Enjoy the Men's offseason and revel in the Women's!!

Thanks WCW! For someone 1800km away who can never get there, your wonderfully descriptive reports make me feel like I’m there!

It’s not hard, Jaded. In fact, it would be harder to NOT show him love. He’s super affectionate and really thrives on it. At one point today he called out to little George Gawn to come give him a cuddle. As is a 3yo’s wont George ignored him and walked away. Clarrie turned to me and said, “He obviously doesn’t like me.” He wasn’t joking. I’m no psychologist but what I see is someone craving love and affection. Anyways at the risk of sounding too woke to some on here, I’ll leave it at that.

Does he have a puppy?

We just got one and they are the best, they love cuddles.

He has two… Benji and Bobby, two cavoodles, he’s crazy in love with them.

Can confirm I too have a Cavoodle and he is the greatest thing for everyone’s mental health

We need to resurrect the dog thread. Now that was a positive thread if ever I saw one!

Thanks WCW. You are a ‘Demon Treasure’. A bigger and more important role than ‘National Treasure’.

He needs a pooch, at least for now. He'll love having a mini Clarry one day 😁

He has two pooches.

I’ve seen him many times holding his teammates’ babies/toddlers. More so than any of the other boys. I told him it suits him and that he’ll make a wonderful Dad one day. His face lit up and he said that he’d love that.

Thank you for all the great reports over the season, and I will see you at preseason at Ghoshs Paddock.

I would go with Kyah and try for 10kgs.

Thanks WCW, the time and effort you put in is amazing. Loved the reports and for all concerned October can't come quick enough, can you pre-empt who might train the house down?

Now get a job.

I’ve actually got two jobs. I don’t sleep much so I keep up with both jobs more than adequately.

That’d most certainly be one Clayton Oliver. He is keen as mustard to repay the Club for sticking by him when they could’ve Ginnivan-ed him. Also because he’s determined to get back to the player he once was.

And a raft of young kids: Sesto, AMW, PuppyDog Brown and PF’s reason for living… Jeffo. LOL - he walked past me today and said, “Still one ninety seven.” I’ve really gotta stop asking these boys their height  😂

Oh and Riv  While he’s always trained with enthusiasm and dedication, I’ve noticed since he was moved to the midfield he attacks training with even more vigour. Sounds silly, but he even looks taller and bigger since the change. True story

I waved the doctor away.

I mean, I can’t be sidelined for 12 days, we’ve got the W comp about to start.

Teddy’s the sweetest kid. I asked Stacey (Melky’s partner) if I could show him a photo taken recently from behind and I was wearing a #18 jumper. She said, “Yes! Show both of them!” 3yo Alfie was also there. So I did, and while Alfie looked a little meh, whatevs, Teddy looked confused af. He says, “that’s Daddy’s number!” I said, “Yep.” He said, “But why Daddy’s number?” I said, “Because Daddy is my favourite player.” He said, “But… why? Why is Daddy’s number there? ” I was beginning to wish I’d never shown him the bloody pic. 😅 It was like if you’re not my dad or one of his kids why the hell are you wearing #18

After watching his dad in the Front Bar... How is Taj going?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
