Thanks WCW your reports are a treat and your devotion is unbelievable. Out of interest do the players and staff address you by your real name or WCW?

When is the next session? Thursday perhaps. I know the question was asked re Ollie Sestan but he didn't get a mention in your dispatches.

They address me by my real name.  Chocco calls me “Princess” since I have the name of a famous princess and he thinks it’s funny. I just humour him.

I agree, with Jaded, WCW, you are a national treasure! Do these boys get any training done with you around?

Now i know why they performed so well on the weekend.

There’s a captain’s run on Thursday, starting time not yet confirmed. Maysie said they’re training tomorrow (he’s pleased he’ll be joining in) but I forgot to ask where it will be. I’ve got a feeling it might be indoors at AAMI.

I spoke with Sesto but of course didn’t think to ask him about Saturday and why he didn’t  play.

It probably does sound as though they don’t get any training done but of course they do. I chit-chat with them before and/or after the session. Also sometimes when they’re in the tent which is really only meant to be for players but I get to go in because I ran it by both Richo and Goody ages ago and they said it’s fine. I never stay in there for long anyways. And of course, walking back to AAMI usually with Clarrie is my fave time.

Gotta add: the players and coaches are so grateful for the DA. They all know I’m in the cheer squad and they regularly tell me how much they respect and appreciate us. I think this is why they always make me feel welcome. Even their loved ones are grateful. At a session recently a woman came over and said hello. I didn’t know who she was and asked her name. She said she’s Kath, Tmac’s mum. I introduced myself and she said, “Oh I know who you are” and proceeded to praise the DA. Â đŸ„°

Where to begin?

Firstly Maysie was here but didn’t train. I was talking to Chocco who told me No Spaz, No Leb this week. He said Leb is probs right to play but they’re “looking after him for next year.” Then he said, “Maysie’s looking good though.” I said, “Will he be playing this week?” He says, “Should be. Here we go, let’s see what he thinks!” Maysie happened to be approaching us. Chocco says, “WCW here wants to know if you’re playing on Friday. Maysie very eloquently said, “fckn oath I am!!!” 😂

I was chatting with Keith (Tracc’s physio). We talked about how happy the boys were to have Tracc there today. He agreed and said, “And Christian is just as happy to be with them.” We talked about how quickly things can turn 180 degrees and basically who’da thunk?! He obviously didn’t tell me details of this morning’s team meeting but he didn’t have to
another guy who’d be cr@p at Poker. 😁

Then I told him how awful it is that Tracc being here probs won’t even make the news since it’s a good news thing. Keith pointed to a reporter being filmed reporting on the session. He dared me to tell them what I think about their gutter journalism. Not one to ever back down from a challenge, I did exactly that. The reporter’s name is Adrian and he’s with channel 10. Spewing it wasn’t Tom Morris, but then I would’ve been the top news story tonight for all the wrong reasons. đŸ€Ș He said they were gonna meet with their producer etc. and work out which way to approach the reporting. Fear not fellow Demonlanders, Adrian was told in no uncertain terms how WE believe today should be reported. And if I’m not mistaken, I believe he may’ve peed his pants a little. I may be small, but [censored] with my team and I’m effectively 10 feet tall.

Speaking of height, no Claz today so I walked to AAMI with KFW. I asked him what his official height is and he said he still hasn’t been measured but he thinks he’s 6ft10 😳 He said when he stands next to Max he feels like he’s the same height as him, “sometimes a little taller.” Again
😳 And yes, I said that might just be because of his hair coupled with Max’s lack of.

Finally, when everyone had left Tracc was lightly jogging/walking  around the boundary with Selwyn. As he passed I said, “Hey Tracc, just want you to know we all love you.” He said, “Cheers, thanks for that.” with a smile that could stop world wars. Then I met another spectator who reads DL but doesn’t post, a lovely lady, We chatted for a bit and in that time Tracc came past again. I said, “Hey Tracc, just want you to know nothing’s changed since I last told you
we still all love you.” He laughed and said, “Awesome! See you next lap.” 😂

In summary, a fantastic session. The mood was incredibly good. The quiet achiever aka Goody had a look of pride on his face that was heartwarming and I hope to keep seeing it.

Your best post ever WCW, and that’s saying a lot, because you set a very high bar.  Thank you! Â â€ïžđŸ’™

Interesting because he was there for Ben Brown’s retirement announcement which I believe was today

He was in the Ben Brown speech video. So he hasn't gone yet.

I've witnessed your work first hand WC.  You may have forgotten already lol.  You go alright for a young whipper snapper.

I try not to stir the pot and behave myself most of the time but alas, nobody's perfect!  Rest assured it's all in jest.

So I'm led to believe Tracc is staying and all is right in the world? If so he really needs to come out and say it.

I was at training today - very close to Trac. He was a happy man doing his training drills. Saw no signs of unhappiness with players and trainers. Was talking to Richo.

I know it but I don’t want to say it!

Thanks for the tops post again

This all of a sudden feels like 2020.

I sent you a PM about ANB doing a junior ring around - thanks to his mum for raising a top quality man.

Oh, I remember that now.

I’ll actually pass on your message this Friday night since SHAZZA IS GONNA SIT WITH US ONE LAST TIME!!! đŸ„ł Bloody sad thought that some other cheer squad will get the pleasure (and chaos) of her company now.

And yes (for a dangerously unhinged lunatic) she DID raise a top quality man and they’ll both be missed very, very much. 😱

As long as it’s not rude and especially if it’s their actual nickname you can call a player whatever you like. It’s a training report by a poster on a forum. They aren’t journalists. If you don’t know a nickname just ask and someone will let you know. WCW and I don’t often get along but I’m glad for her reports and I don’t expect her to be spelling out surnames.

Deep down you love her though.

My younger brother had the pleasure of cheering with her at the 2021 grand final. He had the best day of his life.

@WalkingCivilWar, your reporting is priceless. In a single post, you’ve given us lesser Dees fans the only information that matters, thus rendering every piece of toxic, muck-raking, click-baiting garbage from the likes of Tom Morris and his slimy, self-promoting ilk irrelevant. As someone invested in a sympathetic, considerate, always respectful engagement with the people you’re ‘reporting’ on, you’re more a journalist than they could ever hope to be, simply because your approach grants you access to the truth, without those so-called ‘journalists’ frankly pathetic need for attention. Not only that, but your calling out the fact that some players DO read Demonland, and are personally injured by the critical nonsense that goes on here, way too much, was wonderfully gutsy. I truly believe it will change some behaviours. I know it’s been said, but you’re a treasure, nay, in fact a Princess (and I too know which one 😉).

Is there anything arranged to acknowledge our retirees on Friday night, like a lap around the ground at halftime? I am mainly referring to Gus and BBB if he does not play.  @WalkingCivilWar, have you heard anything?

We’ll be told on Thursday what’s been planned. I’m happy to share on here 😊

I don't think Gus will be involved in anything, will he @WalkingCivilWar?

I hope if he does, that the club makes a massive deal about it, because I reckon you'll get 10,000 more fans there if they know we are getting to farewell Gus properly.

I will of course be there regardless, as will my husband, who is gutted to be losing his favourite player Nibbler

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
