GWS have a deep midfield so i’m not sure they can guarantee that

GWS midfield, or at least their depth is a bit of a myth

Tom Green's the only sure thing through there. Kelly & Cogs are chronically injured, Finn Callaghan plays mostly wing. Plenty of room for Peatling, it'll be the coin that gets him over the line.

I don’t think that is correct… or at least he wasn’t on the article showing 2024 free agents on the AFL site

Peatling is exactly the type of player we should have been pursuing over the past 3 years. Instead Lamb goes after 27yo unwanted players who's best was past them.

Revisionist history?

I agree, but Bedford seems to be their number 1 tagger and they’ve slowly upped Callaghan’s midfield minutes as he starts to win his own footy. Daniels is starting to play more midfield too.

They might be prepared to sell Peatling at his peak value right now knowing Harry Rowston, James Leake, Conor Stone and others are all ready to come in.Ā

I don’t have a clue as to Peatling’s value, so I’m guessing, but would this year’s pick 3 plus our future pick two, get Peatling plus Derksen thrown in as the set of steak knives?Ā  (I’m hoping we’ll keep our possible pick 2 (ANB) from Adelaide, with a view to improving our draft hand)

You might want to edit that post again hardtackĀ before the Demonland early risers choke on their coffees and assume you're predicting we're going to finish second-last next year and possibly spend our whole current and future draft cache on a pair of fringe players.Ā

To them I say, ā€œHave at me!!ā€ 🤣 Note that I did post at approx 4:30am, and I am neither in Perth nor a foreign principality, so I can safely say that I plead insanity.

Apparently 6 Victorian clubs into Peatling would good offers. Ā The Giants increased their deal which was then bettered by some Victorian clubs. Ā Giants will have to go again !!! 5 year deal likely. Ā

Hope we are balls deep into a deal.

Is he worth our 2025 first?

If our 2025 first round pick is (1,2,3) 4 or 5, then noĀ

If our 2025 first round pick is 16, 17 or 18, then yesĀ

No, even if it's pick 18. Second rounder is his value. He's a similar commodity to Langdon was at trade IMO (pick in the mid 20s).

It's the gamble every clubs takes. Collingwood [censored] up with F1 for Schultz, we did well including F1st (mid teens pick) for Lever trade.

Personally think it will be around 10 or 11. Does next years draft get screwed by Tassie?

No chanceĀ

Peatling is not worth a pick under 30.Ā  Unless you're desperate to be seen to be doing something.

Ordinary players become stars at this time of year.

If he's worth as late a draft pick as some are saying, yes

He is worth A LOT more than that.. Pick somewhere 30-45 this year or 20-35 next year imho

Finals form was solid, which upped the value! Player rating of 9 this year but late he was hitting an avg of 12.3 which is excellent. 16 Coaches Votes this year!Ā

I'd have him somewhere betweenĀ  1-60 myself

Edited my post -- but 1-60 seems solid hahaha

Ā

Out of Contract but not free agent, so that does push trade value down a little so a third rounder next year could be enough but with bidding war of 6 clubs I'd say a pick this year in 30's but who knows

They might be able to swing their Noble pick from GC

Astute call

Bookmarked.

We’re still in this. Offering 4 years. His choice and will decide shortlyĀ

Peatling now has a 5 year deal on the table from someone so this probably won’t be enoughĀ

The Demons return to Casey Fields (aka the Field of Dreams) this Saturday to host the Saints in Round 2. If you’re feeling lucky, head down the Monash for some family-friendly footy—you might even walk away a winner. The first 5,000 adults through the gate will receive an entry into the $10,000 helicopter ball drop. With Casey’s infamous wind, what could possibly go wrong? Closest ball to the pin wins. So spread the word, get down there—and good luck!

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love.Ā ManyĀ issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.
