Eery parallels with the RDB departure, similar age, similar profile. Club had recently won a premiership. Looking to expand the brand.  Walked in to a club gathering one day (acc. to Red Fox) and didn't like the vibe.  Went to Carlton.

With the Red Fox's blessing tobe fair

Seems like Trac is invested in himself a little too much

Does he actually have any close mates at the FC?

The more time this goes on, the more likely it is he wont be a Melbourne player next year. Prepare yourselves, folks.

The problem will be that the only clubs that can either afford trac with trades and salary cap are all bottom 8 sides.

I can’t see how Carlton, Collingwood or Essendon can make it happen

This whole thread has been about unsubstantiated rumours 😆

People talking bs about him putting his  his brand first should also be forbidden .

just choosing sides between trac and the coaching staff now

The only conclusion that even only half makes sense to me is that Petracca is frustrated with the coach. ....

That might be correct, but you gave a long list of possible problems, not many of them related to Goodwin, so I am surprised you then boldly conclude: "The only conclusion....is.. coach".

Spare me Gerard. Gonna be a long summer if the self appointed moral guardian of the afl is going to list all our shortcomings day-in-day-out.

Any word on cats players found on the floor of nightclubs or is that only something that happens at clubs with bad culture?

Trac’s management would be very happy with that little soliloquy.

That was [censored] by Gerard, not once did he mention Petraccas antics & carry on, the CP5 brand, attendance, Casey training ground, the doctor being cleared of any wrongdoing, Petracca wanting to go back on the ground, just about the whole list signed & being a spoilt brat

Buckley was good, said he didn’t like the way he’s made it all about himself & that other clubs will take notice of those type of things

Not sure if this has been posted previously. But I find it pretty strange the type of management setup he has regarding his commercial side and so forth now, apparently all of his management structure has changed. From 2 - 3 minutes in there is some interesting listening.

Except, Barassi had played for 12 years, had played in six Premiership teams, two of them as Captain, and he was looking to Coach!

If he does play in opposition colours in 25, it will have a level of animosity between the players and particularly the fans not seen since Carey. At least it will be a big crowd for him

This is the problem for us if we don't hold firm. Collingwood don't even have a first round pick to trade. Blues and Bombers both have one, and neither is high enough to be a key part of a package.

For Blues, Cripps, Weitering, TDK and Curnow from the Blues would be the only players we'd consider. Unlikely any of them are options, maybe TDK if we get lucky.

For Pies, N Daicos or DeGoey the only options. Daicos obviously impossible. DeGoey plus them somehow securing a high pick on top of him could do it, but won't happen.

For Bombers, Merrett the only one and that's unlikely.

We need to deal with Richmond and get pick 1 or ship him off to the Gold Coast to get some high picks and a good kid. If he wants to go to Pies or Blues, then it's going to be a bad result for everyone concerned, including Christian himself.

If this is about "brand", then Trac has just shot himself in the foot before even moving club. His reputation is being smashed. Irony is he's chasing Instagram likes or whatever bullsh*t, but he's going to have to turn off social media because he's going to cop it for years now. What a debacle this is. Lol at his management working overtime to dig their grave deeper here.

Tigers asking for pick 6 for Rioli from the Suns. Suns don’t need to play that hard due to academy players coming through that they can get for combined picks.

Tigers then offer us Pick 1 and 6 for Tracc. We then take 1,5 and 6 at the draft. Tracc goes to a bigger Vic club, and sees he’s old mate Yze.

I wasn't around to see it Bush Demon but there is one thing you can excuse RDB for in this scenario.

While it was a big money deal, Ron ultimately wanted to coach. He didn't know when Norm was going to give it away and the time seemed right for him.

With CP there really isn't anything. He's got a nice juicy contract, he's had success, he seemingly wants to play for Victorian rival and be hated and may not get another shot at a flag anyway.

The only thing that we're hearing is it's for his brand.

Or 1 and 6 go the Eagles and Harley comes home, where he belongs.

McKay has decent management apparently. Clear statement made, move on.

Petracca's management appear limp in comparison. Amazing how they can stay silent and let their client get destroyed in public.

I don't think all of Petracca's management is staying 'silent'.

sure, they may be leaking

but not making public statements or opening up to recorded discussion

don't seem to be managing it well so far, just creating chaos

This is the other half of the whole thing, lots of media numpties throwing McKay into a potential trade. Have been wondering how Harry felt about being traded against his will or knowledge 🤣

It would have to involve a MEGA Trade.

Which are near on possible to get over the line in situations involving 1 pick. MFC have set the price. 3 first rounders get in you to a conversation.

It has to be a godfather offer. As Buckley said, we let others do the work and if not happy Expect Trac at preseason day 1 ready to go.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
