No point in rehashing the same arguments. There is blame on both sides here.

Trac has recommitted and there doesn't appear to be any hard feelings with the playing group or goody. Thats the most important thing. Hopefully he can back to best after his awful injury and put this whole episode behind him.

Whilst it was frustrating and scary for 3 weeks there, internally trac and the coaching group were not worried and what he had literally publically said is demanded professionalism on and off the field. Any die hard fan that has been upset because they have listened to the media vitriol around holding the club to ransom which is total bs, needs to take a deep breath

You don't like him but yet this was you sucking up to him only a few weeks ago at training telling him how much you all love him 😅 😅

Yes I was straight-up lying, lying through my teeth. Why? Because I love my team so much that I put aside my feelings about him and praised him even though it was unpalatable. To see the other boys so happy and so united because of him (finally) explaining himself to them… at that point in time I would’ve said anything to encourage it.

Great to see. Pity the game wasn’t a great spectacle.

Uh BoG are you feeling ok?

'Playing at Casey' = 'Great spectacle' ?

That's about as likely as the Peptides winning a final!

As regards to the Trac photo there's something there for everybody. If you love him then it's a positive sign that he's reengaging publicly with the club and if you can't stand him you can enjoy watching him smile through gritted teeth every time the media department stick an iphone in his face.

Your obsession with @WalkingCivilWar and her positivity is just plain obsessive. What is it you want Dazzle? The ‘Happy Clapper’? Or an opinion?

Give it a rest.

Right??!! Trawling through threads to quote old posts so as he can be like oh but you said this…

I only wish I had that much free time on my hands.

And he doesn’t let stuff go. Ever. EVER

I’ve already told Andy that the day I disappear from Demonland it will be purely because of this one person.

I’m in the latter camp. I’m looking forward to watching him reluctantly playing for us next year. That’d be a hard gig.

I hope that’s the reason, but the little devil sitting on my right shoulder is telling me that he’s there at the bidding of the club, to project the image of a harmonious club. The little angel on my left shoulder is telling me that he’s looking genuinely happy, enjoying a bit of a laugh with Lever and Max.

Also, as the Dees just scored their first goal, the camera focused on an applauding Brad Green.

The little devil on your right shoulder is spot on. Well, according to admin staff with whom I spoke.

Not sure where you're getting your info from, but if what you are saying is fact then it would put a whole different light on everything. If all that happened behind the scenes was that he demanded that the club get better, while remaining committed to helping drive that betterment then he is nothing other than a hero from my perspective. Someone needs to demand it.

Where did all the other junk that was being spoken come from then?

LEAVE ME ALONE!!! Please just leave me alone. I’m going through something incredibly difficult right now, a really really low point and the last thing I need is to be mocked by the likes of you. Just ignore me. Stop with the little indirect digs at me. I’ve done nothing to deserve your nastiness.

Someone laughs at someone else when they’ve just shared that they’re at their lowest point in life? That’s a new low. It’s heartless actually. I don’t need this, I really don’t. I’m out.

There are a few posters that get on my nerves that i have blocked. Just use the ignore button.

She has explained it in the past, but let's say that he is not a humble down to earth type of guy. Seems that he may be one of the few players that doesn't care much to mingle with the DA.

Again I am paraphrasing her from previous discussions about it, but I think you get the gist.

Btw, on a personal comment, I wouldn't mind swapping Petracca with Bontempelli.

Good to see Trac there and smiling.

People still holding serious grudges over him speak more volume on the individual itself.

As @Jaded No More said, we need to be united as a club and hopefully we see a domino effect with the first step being Roffey leaving.

I’m giving myself until end of trade week. If he is still with us then I’m on the Trac Train again. 😃

What a load of claptrap sorry to say I know your passion for the team but this is not worthy in my view

For all those praising Bontempelli's loyalty:  frustrated-superstars-future-in-doubt

"However, it is the understanding of Gullan that his continued faithfulness to the club that drafted him at Pick #4 in 2013 is no longer guaranteed, should cultural differences between key personnel and team success not be positively rectified.

“He’s very loyal Bont obviously – he wants to be there – but this is a reality, and if things continue to go down this path, and he get to the end of this year and he still hasn’t re-signed, that is trouble".

It is now the end of the season and he hasn't signed.

Team success is what the uber professionals like Petracca and Bontempelli work so hard for.  They want the rest of the team to lift to their standards.  They want their club's to be culturally strong.

If folks reckon Bontempelli isn't checking other clubs they have their heads in the sand!

The media has said little about Bontempelli.  Lets wait and see if he signs beyond 2025.

Excellent work Luci

Nothing wrong with wanting a Hi Standard when you have been an elite sportsman for a long time.
I am glad Tracc put an ultimatum to the Club

That may be the case but he did not slander his current club and fans publicly.

Considering that WB is even smaller than the MFC.

Maybe just maybe he tried to keep it quiet to begin with, but those inside didn’t take him seriously….

Slander?

Or hearsay?

The just leave, graciously. Behind closed doors find a deal.

Are we really going to condone what he did? And the negative impact it could have on the team?

The old ‘if at first you don’t succeed, get Tom Morris to act as your mouthpiece’ plan?

Not sure it’s a great long term strategy.

Why he didn't come out publicly day one to deny any of the noise going around in the media? Seriously a very easy fix.

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
