It's funny you should note that.

The inference has been that other clubs would fall over themselves to get tracc. That's its a given

But i wonder if tracc has actually been given any indication the pies or blues are actually keen.

Leaving aside no draft capital, and salary cap pressures, the pies have a raft of plus 30s on their list - list wise, do they really want a player, one who would be their highest paid, who turns 29 next January.

The blues have a better balanced list but he will be coming back from a serious injury, one he has openly said he struggled to deal with psychologically.

Hell, he couldn't even pass a medical atm

Not out a sense of schadenfreude, I genuinely wonder how tracc would feel and/or cope if neither the blues are keen.

“Say what now?”

@Demonland 7 players gone from this team, with Petracca *potentially* gone in the coming months and McDonald (& Melksham) gone at the end of 2025. 3 retirees (Brown, Hibberd, Brayshaw), 4 trades (Harmes, Jordan, ANB, Jackson). Question marks for me remain over Sparrow & Petty (potential trades back to S.A. in the coming years?). May & Gawn to retire in the next few years.. So much for a productive window. With not much left at Casey, I reckon we go to the Draft and try to get as many high picks as possible!

Someone mentioned the Lions. Who knows if true, but he seems to like Qld and has a relationship with Neale. Then again, hard to see that Brisbane need him, especially with another Ashcroft coming through. But, a short hop step away is GCS. If he's that keen/desperate to get out and he and those around him like the sun/beach lifestyle...?

No Harry McKay, but they do have 6 + 13.

Hard to see any other realistic possibility, if he wants to go he's going to have to give up on something.

I’m surprisingly philosophical about it all. I’ve always been a Melbourne supporter, and whether I like it or not that’s never going to change. So I follow along all the drama, but in the end I know I’m here for life, and there’s nothing that will change that.

Besides, what else am I going to do with my weekends? Spend time with my family?
No thanks.

Someone posted this earlier in the thread about Trac but it equally applies to all of us.

When Brand Petracca signed his contract extension in 2021, the Demons published a four-and-a-half minute interview with him, where he spoke of a love for the club as well as making a heartfelt reference to former captain Nathan Jones.

"… even someone like Jonesy who, even he said he could've probably left when the times were tough, but for him to stay and stick it out, to be a one-club player is pretty special," Petracca said on that day.

Petracca's desire to be a one-club player lasted just three seasons more. Can't wait to hear why.

Alternative theory:

Tracc is concerned about the increasing angst and division on Demonland.

And decided to do something to bring us together.

Why would you do that? I hope you get the runs.

John from Diamond Creek I think was his name, claimed to be very close to Trac

Sounds like a character from the 12th man

Hahahaha he’s going to go play in front of negative 5 fans on the Gold Coast? 😂

Brisbane wouldn’t have space in the cap for him, he’s on over a million a year. That’s not pocket change.

Please stop the McKay talk. It belittles our intelligence to drink the McClure Koolaid on a trade that makes no sense for either club

This guy has no idea. trac5 has almost 500k followers. You reckon they are all going to leave?  Ok, boomer.  He can make $10,000 a post. He can post something once every 2 days and he'll be making more money than he does playing football.  Wouldn't be surprised if the goal is 1 mln followers, as much as it 300 games.

Completely agree. Worth 2 top 10 picks at his best but there is no guarantee he gets anywhere near that again. If there's a single top 10 pick on any table I think the club will seriously consider it. After his ordeal, any club would be taking a huge risk with his contract.

I can see a reality where we end up paying a significant portion of his contract if he does move...

Just to rub salt into our wounds. No way, we come across as weak

It's not that serious, I was hungry and needed something to eat.

This is what doesn't compute. You can't throw Brisbane in there as a destination and talk about your brand.

They have significantly less fans than us.

"And as for Brand Petracca's ideal-world hopes of landing at Collingwood, the Magpies have zero trade currency.

Besides, they already have on their books a footballer with a far bigger brand. It's called Brand Daicos, although that brand has come to Nick Daicos mainly through football, not a need to tell people about it."

Ouch.

He is ruining the likelihood of other clubs wanting him

Not sure where the Brisbane thing came from. I reckon some journalist was like Noosa? Noosa is in QLD. Brisbane are in QLD. I do math good.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
