If Houston is worth two first rounders, the Harry and 10 gets nowhere near it.

A complex situation but the answer may well be very simple & straight forward

At a guess I reckon those closest to Trac are upset at the club's reaction to Trac's injury in the KB clash and that might be all there is to it

If so, surely they can patch up their differences and get on with it

But if there's a lot more to it, then a trade is a real option.  However, because of the nature of his injury and recovery time*, coupled with his age (29) and length of contract and the amount involved, we may not get back in a trade what we think we should get

(that's from a supporters point of view, the club will know what is actually on the table) 

 

*Over 2 months later and Trac is not allowed to get his heart rate above 100 beats per minute.  That might scare a few suiters off (how is he meant to complete a pre-season and pass a medical?)

The injuries sustained are horrific our Former Club Doctor told me that he will have to work very hard to get back to Full Fitness we must give Christian some slack.

Well done Moore it seems that Collingwood Players get away with causing us major injuries but i believe in Karma our turn will COME

I don't know how much or how little I'm allowed to post, but here's some of it:

Contracted Carlton key forward Harry McKay has emerged as the key to unlocking a potential trade of Melbourne superstar Christian Petracca, who has reminded the club and teammates of his desire to leave the Demons.

The Norm Smith medallist reiterated to his teammates on Saturday night, and the club during his exit interview on Monday, that he wants to play for a rival Victorian club in 2025, despite public guarantees from Melbourne’s CEO, coach and football boss that Petracca would not be traded under any circumstances.

Three sources who were at Melbourne’s end-of-season function on Saturday night said there was tension surrounding Petracca’s presence and that it was noticeably uncomfortable between him and several teammates.

Petracca’s issues with Melbourne stem from long before he suffered an agonising and life-threatening injury in a collision with Collingwood captain Darcy Moore in the King’s Birthday game.

He became frustrated during the 2023 season when he believed the club failed to act strongly enough in its dealings with fellow superstar Clayton Oliver, who was enduring several off field issues.

He has also told the club, on more than one occasion, that he wants to play more consistently in front of larger crowds.

Yes I listened as well though took something different from it.  Goody basically said about 5 times that Petracca has a contract for 5 years and is going nowhere.  I think the 'as it stands right now' comment was just him saying the same thing a different way - it didn't strike me as he was being very careful to allow an out.  Otherwise it undermines everything else he said in the same press conference.

I know nothing about the current situation re McKay BUT I have mentioned many times that we rolled out the red carpet for him last year. Doesn’t surprise me that his name has surfaced.

Didn't bother him when he signed a 7 year deal worth over $7million.

While I take all these articles with a grain of salt, I've heard enough to know that Trac is acting like a complete diva and needs to take a long hard look at himself.

We committed a gigantic slice of our salary cap to him, and at the first sign of trouble he wants to bail. Such disappointing behaviour from someone I earmarked to be our next captain.

This is first time anyone has claimed this to my knowledge.  This is huge and from The Age which you would assume would check sources

If he bailed for the Pies or Hawks he would make Tom Scully look like a Demon favourite, such would be the hatred.

Sadly I concur, though if this desire to play in front of large crowds only occurred recently, you'd have to cut him some slack given the injury.  If he had that in mind when or shortly after he signed on for 7 years, then diva is the right word.  But at this stage, whadda we know?

I was so adamant in 2022, we should've pursued him when he was still negotiating with Carlton.

This was even more evident if the club knew Jackson was leaving.
