Exactly, that's the only way to read how this has played out.

No one is demanding Petracca release a public statement, all we are saying is that in the absence of one it is clear what is going on behind the scenes.

Supporters trying to claim all is right, media are just making up stuff/picking on Melbourne, Petracca is suffering, doesn't owe supporters anything etc is just coping mechanism.

I'm interested to see how this plays out over the next month or so because as I said earlier it feels like it's going to get ugly with MFC playing hard ball and holding him to his contract when he clearly wants out. Even if he stays this trade period it will be a constant story for the next 12 months.

For all of the hate Goody gets on this site, I think he is an amazing people manager and that his relationship with Trac and the rest of the playing group could absolutely fix it. But it won’t be easy. 

And if Trac’s manager comes to us with a deal that is a clear win for our club, then I also think we will take it. But the chances of that are slim. 
What I know for sure is that our club won’t bend over and trade Trac unless the deal is a massive one. Hence the strong line that Trac is contracted and will be here for the next 5 years. 

Yep for all the hate Goody gets I think he is responsible for mending the situations with both Petty and Oliver. And as much as I dislike Tom Morris, the first time he reported on Tracc's unhappiness he was at pains to add that it had nothing to do with the coach.

Your right, no one knows what the future holds. Though, I think our GM of Football and Head coach publicly stating he isn't leaving, and thus essentially putting their jobs on the line if he does leave gives me plenty of reassurance.

I don't expect Richo to be there next year, and Goody wouldn't be the first coach to say someone will be an x player next year, and for it to go the other way.

Hard to see the Pies trading De Goey to get Petracca in.

From certain posts here saying  he wants out but also is struggling dealing both physically & mentally with he’s injuries and no argument there and understandable! My question is by moving clubs hypothetically how does this assist with he’s recovery???

I reckon after suffering such a traumatic injury and then having to spend a significant amount of time away from the club it would be pretty natural to question your desire to play again and have some anxiety about coming back to the club with all of the media attention and, at the present moment, not being 100% invested.

It wouldn't suprise me if Tracc has lost his love of the game and desire to play and needs some time to come to terms with the trauma and his rehab. The club look like they have a good handle on the situation and making sure he has the time and support he needs.

That tweet keeps getting republished. McClure must be desperate for someone to engage.

Not suggesting that it’s even a remote possibility of happening, but McKay is the exact type of player we need in our fwd line 

2m tall, takes contested grabs, can play ruck

Curnow a better player overall but McKay a far better fit for our team

I think other clubs would also be taking this into account. Would be a huge risk trading for him at the moment given reports he is mentally struggling. I think it’s best for him to go away and focus on getting better and then work out what he wants to do.
