We need to bring in Ray Biffin and Rod Grinter to play on Moore and Maynard.

Big Carl for Mason Cox and Marcus Seacamp can go on the bench.

Tomlinson should get dropped for breaking a team rule in the third quarter.

He took a mark in the centre of the ground, took on his opponent, recorded a quick inside 50 entry thereby causing a bit of stress on the Port defence.

Really interesting to see what happens this week at selection, given Goody's "full bore" comment yet unable to make finals and opportunity to start pre-season early for some carrying injuries, and others needing an opportunity.  Does he try something new for last 2 weeks or  stay with current plan.  I would think this is an opportunity to try something....

Jefferson?  Ruck support? Clarry to go in for op and start preseason? Ben Brown farewell?

Just beat Collingwood….thats all I want. It’ll be a good boost prior to one of the most important preseasons this club has faced in awhile. Fitness, clean hands, stick your tackles, break your tackles… just to start them off

Deserves a farewell for his 2021 efforts.

But it should be the Collingwood game in front of the fans.

Do we owe Hunter a 200th game? I suspect I know the answer.

Reckon we'll get rolled by the Suns.

Aside from the GABBA game in round 16, our form away from the MCG has been deplorable since the ™Business Trip.

Most of the angst this year has arisen from the Perth/Optus games and the Dogs Marvel game. Most of our MCG games have been pretty darn decent.

I expect us to be flat for this one but then give it a red hot crack for Collingwood.

I'm going to preface this by saying I love Clarry and I want the club to continue to back him and get him right over this off season. But seriously, if his hand is that cooked please please please just send him for surgery and focus on getting him super fit for 2025. There is absolutely no point in playing him these last two weeks and he is having zero impact on the game.

I would rather we run with a Bailey Laurie, who was actually solid when he played a few weeks ago. Even play Kynan Brown in the forward line and play Neal-Bullen more midfield if required.

Agreed. We'd actually get more from Laurie than the Oliver version of the Port game.

If he does get selected, I expect Clarrie to play well. He hasn't played many good games this year, but the good ones have followed the games where he's copped it from the media.

Given we rarely bring our sub on until the last quarter, is Jefferson worth a go as Sub - he can come on when opposition players have played most of the game and still get a feel for the pace or AFL? Perhaps a swap for Melk (though he is a very smart player).

Captain’s run this Friday at People First stadium. Starting time to be confirmed.

GameDay:

VFL (Curtain raiser): Gold Coast vs Casey

Gates open at 9.45am

Game starts at 10am

To attend the VFL match you need to have your official AFL match-day ticket.

AFL: Gold Coast vs Melbourne

Main gates open at 11:45am

Game starts at 1:45pm

The cheer squad will be sitting in Bay 148.

The QLD Demons will probably gather for a prematch get-together but I’m not aware of details. If anyone would like details I can find out. I personally will be attending the Casey match.

For those attending the match/es, please feel free to come and grab a flag or a giant head, (so long as they’re returned after the match). The more colour and noise, the better. As always, we want the boys to know we’re there to support them.

10 am start for the VFL.

The lads will be doing mad Monday by 1pm.

What a way to go out for a few big names especially.

Lever and Hore followed the team rules. If you 60-70 metres out from goal.  Kick it sideways or preferably backwards to a more dangerous situation and create a turnover.  Dont lower your eyes and hit a target.

As a starting point:

Out: Oliver

In: Moniz-Wakefield

Oliver is just not anywhere near fit enough to compete at AFL level so he should not be picked at AFL level. By picking him we've compromised out ability to win games this year week in week out.

If its frustrating as a fan to see it one can only imagine that there'd be some frustrations amongst the playing group.

I just want to see them keep trying new stuff in the centre square. Good to see both Kossy and McVee in there at the same time last week.

If we have any chance of being decent next year, we need to find a way to become consistently competitive at stoppages again. Now, with very little to play for, is a good time to try stuff.

To be fair, Hunter played his part in our flag triumph.

Did he have a Barry Crocker against us?

16 possessions and 1 goal doesn't look disastrous on paper for a grand final.

Eddy is right this year - round twenty four IS our Grand Final.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
