Great signing! Love what Kolt's already shown in small glimpses. He's got that Trac feel about him, will be a powerful mid-fwd in few years time.

Congratulations Koltyn Tholstrup and MFC, love what Lamb has done over the last couple of weeks - Daniel Disco Turner, Harry Swingman Harrison, Caleb Jet Windsor and now Koltyn Kolt Tholstrup. That is such great news, I really rate this kid, actually all of them but this one in particular. Just need to re-sign The Judd McVee long term and get Mr Ed Langdon on board.

Do your stuff Tim Lamb.

Kid has the best hair in the AFL and like what he has brought to the team.

he already signed last year

Yeah yeah but he needs to sign for at least 10 more years because I reckon Peter Bell is already living in his bins rent free.

Sorry double up.

haha

Very happy with this. Always good to lock the interstate guns away!

Kolt has already shown mongrel and skill and a real team first attitude getting around his mates. With added fitness and strength he could become a real weapon as a mid-fwd type. He's starting games well and then fading out in second halves, so will be crucial to build his tank over the next few preseasons so he can maintain the intensity all game.

Yes, he's going okay (at best), but has done nothing to warrant a 4 year extension at this point. Why not hold for off 12 months?

How's the ridiculous Laurie extension looking at the moment?

You just said in another thread that the only way forward for us is draft picks and kids.

So locking away a 19 year old (2 year extension, not 4, btw) who’s had a taste for it and clearly vibes well with the club doesn’t fit that strategy?

They reported on the midweek tackle that Ed Langdon has re-signed pending announcement

awesome!

He looks likely to have a very good AFL career. Power, very very good basic skills, and loves the physical stuff. I'm not a huge fan of his posturing and trash talking but love his confidence so I accept them all as a single package. His game awareness and positioning has improved out of sight over this season and I see him in the midfield long term.

To have him and other younger players re-signing shows how much they want to hang around. Goodwin might be a boring media performer, but the players clearly love playing for him.

Didn't he say a few weeks ago how much he loves the club & wants to re-sign?

It's great to lock him away for a further few years

Yes he did dees189227 he said that he loved the club and that he didn’t want to be anywhere else. I remember early in the year that he told WCW at training that he loved it here and no way he will get homesick.

Well done Kolt👍🏻. Interesting that we are locking away two first year players that still have two and a half years to run on their first contract.
Making sure all our sums add up before offering a new player big four year contract perhaps?

I agree re Laurie, but Kolt just in his few appearances add so much energy to the whole team.

Energy and class, balance and class.  Not as smooth as Windsor, but a massive positive vibe.

Love the Kolt

Great news

Desperately needed to be back next week to energise the forward line..  I must have missed something - was he injured?

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
