Koltyn Tholstrup Re-Signs until 2028

Featured Replies

Great signing! Love what Kolt's already shown in small glimpses. He's got that Trac feel about him, will be a powerful mid-fwd in few years time.

Congratulations Koltyn Tholstrup and MFC, love what Lamb has done over the last couple of weeks - Daniel Disco Turner, Harry Swingman Harrison, Caleb Jet Windsor and now Koltyn Kolt Tholstrup. That is such great news, I really rate this kid, actually all of them but this one in particular. Just need to re-sign The Judd McVee long term and get Mr Ed Langdon on board.

Do your stuff Tim Lamb.

Kid has the best hair in the AFL and like what he has brought to the team.

he already signed last year

Yeah yeah but he needs to sign for at least 10 more years because I reckon Peter Bell is already living in his bins rent free.

Sorry double up.

haha

Very happy with this. Always good to lock the interstate guns away!

Kolt has already shown mongrel and skill and a real team first attitude getting around his mates. With added fitness and strength he could become a real weapon as a mid-fwd type. He's starting games well and then fading out in second halves, so will be crucial to build his tank over the next few preseasons so he can maintain the intensity all game.

Yes, he's going okay (at best), but has done nothing to warrant a 4 year extension at this point. Why not hold for off 12 months?

How's the ridiculous Laurie extension looking at the moment?

You just said in another thread that the only way forward for us is draft picks and kids.

So locking away a 19 year old (2 year extension, not 4, btw) who’s had a taste for it and clearly vibes well with the club doesn’t fit that strategy?

They reported on the midweek tackle that Ed Langdon has re-signed pending announcement

awesome!

He looks likely to have a very good AFL career. Power, very very good basic skills, and loves the physical stuff. I'm not a huge fan of his posturing and trash talking but love his confidence so I accept them all as a single package. His game awareness and positioning has improved out of sight over this season and I see him in the midfield long term.

To have him and other younger players re-signing shows how much they want to hang around. Goodwin might be a boring media performer, but the players clearly love playing for him.

Didn't he say a few weeks ago how much he loves the club & wants to re-sign?

It's great to lock him away for a further few years

Yes he did dees189227 he said that he loved the club and that he didn’t want to be anywhere else. I remember early in the year that he told WCW at training that he loved it here and no way he will get homesick.

Well done Kolt👍🏻. Interesting that we are locking away two first year players that still have two and a half years to run on their first contract.
Making sure all our sums add up before offering a new player big four year contract perhaps?

Absolutely. Brilliant news. Well done, Lingers and TL.

I agree re Laurie, but Kolt just in his few appearances add so much energy to the whole team.

Energy and class, balance and class.  Not as smooth as Windsor, but a massive positive vibe.

Love the Kolt

Great news

Desperately needed to be back next week to energise the forward line..  I must have missed something - was he injured?

Concussion protocols

Did anyone watch him closely today? For a guy who doesn't do much with ball in hand, his work ethic is seriously lacking. There was an instance in the 3rd about 70 from Adelaide's goal where he was in a 50/50 with Berry (I think), and gave the most cursory chase. Landed a few metres behind Berry within a few seconds and gave them a clean look inside 50.

Sorry to crack into a kid, and I think we can all see the talent is nowhere near where it should be for a pick 12 but haven't been giving him a bake given he's so young, but you lose that protection when you refuse to run, chase and tackle like your life depends on it.

If we didn't hand out long contracts like they're lollies, I'd say that next year is a serious crossroads.

Seems like a Harmes/Sparrow calibre guy we reached for 🫣

Seemed like the outlier of our last two drafts where we wanted skills and/or speed in Langford, Windsor, XL

Hopefully he shows more next year with a non interrupted preseason

More inclined to look at a few older blokes when things got a little hot in the last than the young blokes during....

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
