GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs Essendon

I give up, have no effing idea what the rules of the game are. The umpiring is out of this world (or out of their rrrse)

Defending well

Great first half lads!

Our pressure and tacking intensity is up. Conditions is suiting us more then Essendon.

Essendon are incredibly soft and don't like the contest work.

One more half to go boys!

Cracking tackle my McVee!

Another good  end to the qtr. keeping up the intensity, keeping them thinking and have just had a little more spark up forward. This is a good base to build from. Let’s get them in the second half!

Rivers to be a permanent midfielder.

Sparrow may be out of the team soon.

Will be interesting to see how the second half goes. I'm still scarred from our final quarter against the Lions

Playing angry with intent, no soft players or there today, unlike Essendon

Nathan Jones has been pretty soft

Much better quarter. Stopped Ess run on the outside, lots of pressure on the man causing the fumble.

JVR much better in the ruck that quarter. Not getting pushed off the ruck contest

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
