Kozzie is a star, and his career has only just begun. 

The fact that he has been able to do even half the stuff he has, at such a young age, is wild. 

Can't wait for the next 10 years. I can see him taking bub around with premiership #2 trophy.

who is the best player comparison for him; cyril rioli or shai bolton?

for mine he sort of plays similar to both; he brings the defensive pressure of cyril but with the ability to clear away from the contest of bolton

Pound for pound the most skilful player on our list. Some of the stuff he does is beyond ridiculous. 

His consistency is remarkable, not just for a player of his age, but considering how hard that small forward role can be, especially in our sometimes dysfunctional forwardline.

He will be one of our all time greats, both as a forward and as a midfielder.  There is not another small forward in the game I would trade him for, not even close. 

Love the pure joy and aggression he plays with. Long may it continue.

Why do you think he isn't he lauded like Cyril, Jaded? A Hawthorn thing? Multiple premiership thing? A big vs small club thing? Or just a Bruce thing?

All of the above. Also Cyril was sort of the first of his type, which helped that overall hype.

There is no doubt that Kosi will retire a better player statistically, and hopefully just as decorated in terms of premiership medals.

The much lauded Cyril Rioli kicked 40 goals twice in eleven years of AFL. Kozzie has done it twice before he was 21.

Last few years  40 goals, 41, 37 and 25 so far this year in 14 games.

He is an outstanding talent that will go down as a melbourne great.

Cyril 189 games for 275 goals, or 1.45 goals per game; Kozzie 99 games for 150 goals represents 1.51 goals per game.

Impressive. And special.

Davey was very different to Cyril but you’re right, he invented the pressure small forward role 

 

Cyril was able to impact the play in the middle as well as up forward, just like Kosi. But IMO Kosi has more weapons to his game because he’s a far more physical player. 
If he wasn’t so damn good inside 50, I reckon he could be an A grade inside midfielder. His evasive skills while also being incredibly powerful, is what makes him so unique. 
Generally small pressure forwards are slight in frame and they tackle well but they aren’t hungry for the contested footy. Kosi is able to win the contested footy at speed and he doesn’t need any time or space to do something special. 
 

He is an amazing player and we are so lucky to have him!

Kozzie’s 100th & Chin’s 50th this week.

In terms of banner, it’s a good thing Lachie Hunter’s not playing since he’s on 199. Would be a tight fit having all three of them. 😊

I watched it tonight, it is a very special, sensitive, confronting and beautiful film that fills in a bit of who Kozzie is and what he stands for and what a lovely young man he is off the field.

Kozzie, Kozzie, Kozzie, Oie, Oie,Oie, what a champion player and a champion human being our Kozzie is. We are looking forward to seeing Kozzie play his 100th, and Chin playing his 50th on Saturday night against one of our hated enemies. Who was the poster insisting Kozzie was only returning a goal a game?

1.51 is good especially since lately he's been playing in the middle.

I think this will improve and we could see it rise to close to 2.

I can't believe he's played 99 already.

I have always loved the small forward pockets. Ricky Jackson, Wizard, Davey, Jurrah and now Pickett are some of my all time favourites. (I even loved Smoker, Armstrong and Heaver.)

But the thing with Kozzies high flying attempts is even if he doesn't pull them in, they are often against one or two tall defending opponents who who have probably marked the ball had he not flew

In other words his ability to leap often results in him playing as a tall and at least getting the ball to ground ( yes...I know that's where we want him) and is a part of our forward pressure.

There was a special, light hearted moment during last weeks game against West Coast when another All Australian, Mark of the Year, Premiership Player, joined with Kossie in celebrating his mark.

He’s gone up a level recently. Kozzie is a special player who is probably just one big final away from becoming the best small forward in the comp. If I had to choose 3 players that I want to play well in a game he’d always make the cut.

Does not make up for the art of crumbing especially to the front  of the pack. Who takes Kossies place at ground level when he wasted his time flying from the back over other Dees players who are in the team to mark the ball.

in other words ONE mark swallow in 100 games ( summers) does not make a summer!!! 

Imagine if all players did this an all positions team rules would be a disaster.

Inlove Kossie and appreciate that he is allowed plenty of space to play expansively because of his amazing ability. Thats what we love about home but speccys can be left to our talls thank . you
