Would be all over Lewis if he sought a trade

His body is a concern but there arenโ€™t many near 2m forwards who can actually play

Take the risk and get him fit I say

I'm not sure we have the luxury of taking a risk like that. He can play for sure, but that has serious potential to be another bust trade.

It would be a risk for sure but weโ€™re asking for trouble if we go into 2026 with the same key forwards as 2025

Not sure who else is out there and potentially available

Tracc is currently 26th & Clayton is 39th for total disposals so far this year and they are both coming off injuries, Tracc is also 4th in Score involvements 114, Tracc 62 tackles, Claz 80 tackles and Salem is 4th for Marks in the league. No one else bar Max is even close. Re you solely basing your opinions on points scored??

Doesn't matter how many disposals you get when they are dump kicks or handballs to opposition !

Agreed. Disposals is one thing. Completely different is using the ball effectively. Theyโ€™re both horrible with ball use most of the time.

And yet they have 6 Keith Bluey Truscottโ€™s, 2 AFL Coaches Awards, a Premiership and our only Norm Smith Medal between them. Jeezuz the worm turns quickly doesnโ€™t it.

Yes , very effective from 2018/2022 when territory was key, but sadly they have not adapted to current style where hitting targets with hand and foot is now big focus, we get burnt on turn over too often because of poor disposal from our midfielders.

Heโ€™s clearly got talent, but hasnโ€™t played more than 15 games in a season. I know players can be unlucky but we rolled the dice with McAdam and that hasnโ€™t worked well (so far). You wouldnโ€™t want to give up much for this either way

I still remember when, early in his career, Clarry started kicking (and running) more. He went from an inside handballing machine to a much more dangerous player, and arguably that pushed him up to superstar status. Now he's a shadow of that player, probably due to physical and mental fitness I guess. He looks so far off winning another Bluey it's crazy.

Youโ€™re right, we should keep them and stay bottom 4 for the next 3 years whilst theyโ€™re contracted. Good idea.

You would think the romance of Calsher Dear (and age) would have him ahead of Lewis.

Chol and Gunston is working at the moment.

Lewis should be gettable

They also have Ramsden over 201cms and Scaife to come and huge ruckman Ned Reeves not getting a game, who could go forward for them.

In the case of the Deez, the worm has turned itself inside out and suffocated itself.

Should be a priority to get Callum Brown from the Giants into the fold. Heโ€™s fun to watch, is athletic, can take marks and is also good below the knees. Would be nice to get some Irish heritage back into the club too, imagine a Jimโ€™s Game debut for him!

Supposedly close to extending with the Giants unfortunately ๐Ÿ˜ข

Ahh thatโ€™s a huge shame. That leaves us with very little options when it comes to forwards, which will cause an uproar when we donโ€™t bring in any.

Massive red flag with his body, but Mitch Lewis can play. 1.99 and 26, perfect fit for us next to JVR, wouldnโ€™t cost too much, but can he get on the park ?

We asked the question about Mitch a few years ago, shortly before he signed an extension.

Surely there is a tall fwd on a list that is caught in a logjam at their club who would consider coming to the Dees, one of the Whitlocks for example. And donโ€™t call me Shirley.

We may have to cash in our 2026 1st rounder to buy a few 2nd and 3rd rounders to help refresh the list. Iโ€™m thinking trades not Rookies, so many uncertainties.

I think one of our biggest issues this offseason is how do we actually improve our list. No first round draft pick, all reports a weak draft so trading players out for picks probably not a great way. What type of player would we get for the likes of Oliver, Lever Fritsch and others.

This may be a bit out there but should we bring Frosty home to replace Marty Hore?

You would not trade a 1st rd pick for 2nd rd picks. Especially when you are not at the top end.

Interesting, as this goes against @Dannyz info from last week or the week before that Judd had re-signed.

I'd trust Danny ahead of the HUN.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
