bergman is like rivers but a far, far superior kick

we are just one of a myriad of melbourne-based teams 'keeping tabs' on him according to tombstone; aints have been in the market for a long time

Bergman’s going at 67% kicking efficiency this year compared to Trent’s 72%, Port fans will tell you he loves a turnover actually

We looking for any defenders?

This isn’t going to end well on this forum…

You need to add a smiling emoji to signify you are joking.

If your actually serious then you deserve a lifetime ban.

Takes the riskier kick and gets more of it

Raw #s only tell part of the story

I’d like him at the Dees but think it’s unlikely

Isnt top flight by any stretch, but would be in the upper echelon of the next rung down. I like his speed and athletic ability. In fact would be a close substitute for Pig.

Bergman in allows us to move Lindsay on to the wing permanently without losing pace and ball use from the back.

Alternatively, it allows us to replace Salo. Or push Rivers into midfield permanently.

More kickers with pace who can defend back there the better.

Upgrade on Salo..didn’t think about that. Good pick up.

The stats don't agree, Bergman is rated in the top 20 worst kicks in the comp according to champion data. The champion data system all takes into consideration the level of risk, pressure etc.

Can we please target anyone who is a half decent KPF. We have zero at present. I don't care who we trade with or how much they cost.

I think Petty, Turner and JVR are the beginnings going forward. All have shown significant promise at times. It’s not unusual for a tall’s development to be slower than a mids. I’d certainly keep looking to add further tall players but I’m taking mid/forwards as first up. If we add Jackson I fear we’ll need a Pickett replacement.

I disagree, your three will not take us to a GF. Turner is a fairly good player. Petty struggles against good sides and I don't rate JVR, his best play is as a back up ruckman.

Still call Schwarta Theo instead of the Ox 😆

He was high up on our list in his draft year. Can play

Melbourne has thrown its hat in the ring for out-of-contract Port Adelaide defender Miles Bergman, who is weighing up a move back to Victoria.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Defender | 23-years-old | 93 games

The Saints, Bulldogs and Demons are expected to long-term make offers that could turn his head.

Yep, JT was a big fan of Bergman's in his draft year wasn't he?

Good get. Vesatile HBer and replacement for Salem.

The amount of complaints about having Ben brown and Josh Schache on the list for too long was hard on the ears. IMO a list doesn’t need 6+ key forwards and we currently have

Petty*

Turner*

JVR

Jefferson

Fullarton

Johnson

Kentfield*

With Verrall as a ruck/fwd type on the list too. I get that petty and turner are swing types and kentfield is being trialed as a chb, but would rather not see any more brought on to the list until we decide someone is out first.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
