Really not looking forward to the pies game next week now. They’re missing half their list and we’re gonna let them walk all over us going off today’s performance. Sickening..

The whole club needs a serious shake up.

We need a very big re-build, players not willing to stick around for it can go elsewhere. As much as I love Max, his time as captain needs to come to an end.

We need new leadership. From the Pres & CEO, to the coach captain and players.

Worst first half since 2018 prelim. 3rd grossly uncompetitive display this season. WTF is going on?

They have lost their passion and now skills.

No hunger.

Two Freo players hold the ball and effectively tackle each other Nibbles tackles them. No holding the ball. WTF???

Yep it's the umps fault

What hope have you got when we do not have a forward. Fritta runs away from the ball. Would not have a bruise on him. Turner hasn't touched it but has a goal. For Freo. Petty is ordinary at moment. McAdam. Is he playing. Then you throw in our skill level by Rivers, Sparrow and Salem and lack of endeavor from Windsor and Huinter all adds up to us being a middle-ranged side. Long season ahead demonlanders.

Heads will roll for this performance. Something is seriously wrong with this club. West coast, now this. Need to step back and rethink the list

Maybe not the list per se 🤔

I don't mean to be alarmist, but put a fork in us WE ARE DONE!

Playing 20 v 23, nothing in the cupboard. Hunter, McAdam, Petty, miles off the level.

Can't kick, can't run, can't mark.

AMW must play for the next month at least to see if there's something there.

Have you watched Casey lately.

We lost to Coburg yesterday... a team that is winless this year and has maybe won five games in the last three years

Down 28 in contested possessions. Back to the days of being non competitive. Horrible.

Is this called zone defence or no defence? Why are all of our players 20-40 metres away from their players who can then play kick to kick at will????? This is the worst performance since the Neeld era. Skills totally lacking. Jogging around, half trying. An absolute thrashing by a second rate team.

I think I might petition to have no Binman on the pod this week because I just can’t put up with 2 hours of this isn’t our midfield’s fault.

This is coach-killing stuff.

Or is it killing-coach stuff ??

Look at the players on our list .

There are so many we don't play.

Not saying we should but why are we paying them?

May not be a bad thing. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Got to be the weakest, most embarrassing, gutless and shameful half of football I’ve seen from this team. The players and coaches should be ashamed of themselves.
Haha hoping for a better second half!

Mini rebuild required at the club. We're not contending this year with this list and this game style. We've lost whatever identity and brand we had, and the players have gone into preservation mode as a result. The next wave coming through in Sparrow, Bowey etc have not come on, and as the old core is now on the slide, there's no one picking up the slack to make us competitive.

It's sad that Gawn and May will retire in the coming years battling away in an uncompetitive team.

Since the missed HTB 15 metres out for ANB in the 1st, momentum changed, and have turned to 💩looks a training drill out there.

Agree. Heads should have rolled after eagles disaster.

But we don't have the players.

The question is why?

Worst half of footy since the 2020 Cairns game against Sydney. If you want to count that game. Maybe the worst since the 2018 prelim.

Sadly this team ain’t it. Oliver is doing well just to be playing, but his lack of preparation is starting to show. Just a player at the moment, no star. Petracca can’t do it all. Viney is getting on. Windsor needs a rest. Then we have Petty and Turner as our “twin towers”. lol. Disappointing because all it takes is Sydney to be a little bit off one night in September and it’s anyone else’s flag this year. But we are playing like porridge too often. Brisbane was a disaster, West Coast did it too easy, and now this?!?

We should only really be 4 goals down though. Nice mark Amiss lol. [censored] off 22 and friends.

This is a coaching problem imo. New game style doesn't suit our team. It's too easy to play against.
How can professional coaches not see this?
3 goals in a half, in perfect conditions. 16 scoring shots to 6!!
It's not working!!!!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
