Why we let Jordan go is beyond me

You know very well that he chose to leave as a free agent.  We had no say in it.

Why you persist in peddling this "let him go" furphy is perplexing.

He left because of chances so in effect we let him go

I can’t see Yze surviving the next 2 years regardless of how good a coach he is. They haven’t hit bottom yet but it’s coming

The expression "poison chalice" springs to mind.

Can we rebrand the leftover merchandise from Ninthmond to Northmond?

We wanted him to stay.  That's not letting him go.

When a player is not getting a go regularly and has limited opportunity they all go to greener pastures and that was the case full stop no matter how you want to spin it.

I'm looking at the Norf score and, regardless of the myriad of issues, they should not be this bad. There's a couple of players who do not give a stuff and in just about any other team would be dropped for lack of effort. Zurhaar plays like a bloke marking time until recruited by a big club. He's not alone. Pathetic.

Terrible game.

Gosh these 2 games are soooo 1 sided.

Wonder how dimma is enjoying Darwin. Usually likes to complain about travelling.

These older Geelong players are going to tire easily in the Darwin weather next week

Anyone bored with these games, checkout the southern lights.

Yep and the nrl didn't help me either. The storm got beaten.

I'm just watching the Darwin game wishing I could get some of their 29 degree weather

North, Richmond and Suns are Essendon’s next three games.

They’ll be top 2 soon.

We beat St Kilda, West Coast and North in rounds 8,9 and 10 in 2022 and then fell in a hole we haven’t yet quite fully extracted ourselves. Let’s hope same happens to them. .

Richmond have 4 flags to hang their hat on, but what in the sweet Jesus is happening at Norf?
I never thought I’d see someone be worse than us under Neeld, but I think they have us covered 😧

Sydney will come back to the pack. Happens every year. They haven’t had too many hard games just yet.

Did you mean Essendon? Because Sydney is far and away the competition's number 1 seed right now, mainly because they have the league's best record against good sides.

They've beaten the sides currently sitting 3rd, 4th, 5th and 8th, plus 9th and 10th.

No other top 8 side has that many wins against fellow contenders, nor are any of them undefeated against fellow contenders.

It's bizarre that Richmond beat the Swans.

Gold coast play Geelong in Darwin next week and they're without Cameron and Hawkins.

A loss there could see the cats fall as far as 7th at the end of next week.

It is and it’s also a good reminder that these bottom clubs will win matches this year. Just got to make sure we don’t slip up against them.

Feel a bit sorry for Yze but not for Richmond.

  • POSTGAME: Essendon

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
