Looks like a copy of last years finals game.  Blues and the AFL need the win !!  MFC need to beat Carlton, AFL, media and the 3 Specsaver people in yellow !!!

This year Caleb Windsor will be a pace ahead of Acres and rebound it back up the other end of the ground

When will Jockstrap play again? (Tholstrup)

Next year I reckon. I think he’s not physically ready. He’s still a kid.

If we played on Saturday night and our next game is Thursday night, isn’t that a four day break? Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

From start time to start time it's exactly 5 days. From end of Geelong game to start of Carlton games it's 4 days and 21-ish hours. Depends how pedantic you want to be with it.

Is a Saturday to Saturday game a week or only a six day break.

In: Bowey

Out: ?

I'm gonna guess Laurie out with Woey to sub. Can provide cover to both ends if need be.

Prior to the Geelong game I was confident.  All the love was for the Cats and they were due for a loss. This week we've had all positive media so will need to live up to the hype. 5 day break is a concern although Carlton are coming into their third tough game in a row in 13 days. That is definitely a mitigating factor. Blues are possibly getting a few back also. Reckon we're the better team but we'll need to be at our best. A win would be massive for our season but the Baggers will be desperate to stay in the race and the eight. Team selection could be telling.

The five day break will be interesting. It may be negated somewhat by the bye we had.

In some ways this game is as big as last week's. Win this and I feel a little smug.

A follow up from Petty would be nice with a couple of goals added on. Hopefully Anb and JV can be at their best to combine with an inform Oliver and Max.

Can't wait to watch young Windsor again.

And some Kozzie brilliance as well.

Thanks to all dlanders who got to the game last week and made a lot of noise.

Feel sorry for Woey. He played really well. Maybe Bowey is sub for a limited return after a long absence?

Toss up between Laurie and Billings to go out for mine - Billings seems to be considered in the best 22 ahead of Laurie and Woey Jnr but his form hasn’t been great last couple, Laurie though seems to be only in to cover injuries so I’d say he goes out for Bowzer.

Blues aren’t coming in riding high like they were when we played them in the final, and it seems we’re less reliant on dominating the centre square this year so we don’t need Trac, Clarry and Viney to dominate Cripps and Walsh to win it, I think they’ll have trouble moving the ball against us like they did against the Cats at time and like the Cats had against us.

Quietly confident though we’d want to be fresher than we were against the Lions.

5 day break is the price we pay for being a big club now, we’re prime time every week - not hidden off broadway like Hawks, Norf and co

Just watched Goody’s press conference.

I think we are incredibly fortunate to have a bloke like him on board.  His values permeates right through the club.  You can see and feel the respect the players have for him.  The Caleb Windsor interview is a good example.  It appears that the inner sanctum of the club (footy department right through to the playing squad) have huge buy in to the club’s (Goody’s) value system.

I understand that some people aren’t that wrapped in him. All good, people are allowed to think differently. I hope he hangs around for a very long time.

If McGovern & Kemp are in, that will stabilise the Blues defence somewhat. If Martin comes in, that is a big 'in' IMO, he adds a lot to Carlton's offense, a genuine 3rd threat along with McKay & Curnow.

I suspect Marchbank needs a VFL match to sharpen up before coming back in.

Loved how he mentioned Jayden Hunt missing out on 2021 when asked about the premiership rings.

I'd say they're very concerned with losing 3 in a row... and potentially rushing back in.

Anyone know the stats around how many times the Premier of a season has lost 3 games in a row and gone on to win?

I'd say it's Laurie out, Taj Sub and Bowey into the team.

I think Billings has a role that he's playing pretty well, when he's subbed it seems more tactical than anything else to add a bit of run

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
