It would be good to see a 'Top 5 Goodwindees scoops of all time' post or news.com article.

Florent’s not getting out of bed for $2 mill over 5 years

I've found that a pretty big problem myself actually. I never get out of bed for $2 mill over 5 years.

Another one bites the dust, and another one, and another one. Great to see clubs holding onto their players like their future depends on it.!!!

We gave Spargo a 4 year deal, and Hayward is 10 times the player. Hayward is rightfully in high demand whereas no other club would have been looking at Spargo.

weren't there two clubs - from memory, hawthorn and the peptides? - who were sniffing around spargo as recently as last year?

small pressure forwards with good footskills are quite valuable

3 year deal for Spargo

Good deal for a young premiership player

Small forwards who can't find the football or kick goals aren't valuable, which is why Spargo found himself at Casey last year. Hayward is the opposite to Spargo.

Attention now turns to getting LDU, Lukocious, Battle, Lobb (ruck/forward) and an elite small forward and fast half back flanker with elite kicking… too much?

Good luck to Hayward and the Swans. The mail from the very reliable poster  was that the clubs were keen on his services, not necessarily he would end up there.

And no need to be a [censored] smart azz about it.

Thanks for the support Dee Zephyr. As I clearly stated, however, apparently not clear enough for Deelectable, was that Carlton in particular had come early & hard with a 5 year, big $ offer and the Swans didn’t think they’d be able to retain him as they had other priorities.
Two SA clubs made even bigger offers and Dees showed a little interest.
I can tell you that the FD of the Swans are pleasantly surprised to retain him and I was told that he’s accepted at least $600k less over the term to stay at the Swans.

We extended Bill by 2 years when we could have waited until end of year. No one was chasing him, why then. He isn’t a regular AFL player even.

The first two would make us a much better team. We can only hope.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
