God help me if we have more faith in Schache v Tommo

Schache is uncompetitive at Casey, please never again

He kicked four goals this last week!  You may need to eat your hat if he gets a chance.

Poor Casey might need to pick some Demonlanders to play for them this week.

Casey have the week off due to the representative state game on Saturday between the SANFL and the VFL which is part of the Gather Round.

Can I just say that I'm loving the commitment and spirit that Jake Melksham has shown since his ACL. He could've proudly retired last year, but has the hunger for one last shot. His professionalism in rehab is showing the rest of the list that we must not take winning for granted, this is our time. He's going to be an asset in the back half of the season

I can see him being a future super coach.

knows what’s needed to get a game given serious adversity and the commitment to get to a level good enough to deserve that game.

He should inspire the playing group to go further. Best these crow eaters !

BBB may be rested for Schache, as no point in destroying what's left of his knee, with a 5 day break.

Crows are not strong in key backs, so Schache could go ok.

Given the training reports of Chin looking upset, it could be Kolt in for his first.

I think Woey will get a full game, as he was sub and is fresh from Saturday.

The thing BBB does that Schacke doesn’t is present to the half back line to get a mark that helps us exit defence

I think Schacke has been tried and tried with us and other clubs and is just too lacking in impact

it’s what you bring when the ball isn’t delivered lace out - Jvr bbb make it a contest

One thing that BBB does which always goes unnoticed is his deft taps in marking contests. Watch Fritch’s first goal from Saturday - came from BBB deliberately tapping the ball to the back of the contest for Fritsch to run onto. Does it week after week, and of course doesn’t show up on the stat sheet, but is invaluable to the way we play.

If BBB can remain fit over the season and show what he shown the first few weeks- he is a huge asset to our flag push. Gives us great flexibility and frees up Petty to play either forward or back

Someone in the Facebook comments on the training report mentioned that Marty Hore was not training either getting an injury assessed.

Matty took a knee to the ribs during the game and came straight off but came back on later. Prob very sore.😢

BBB is a smart footballer with pure footballer's brain no one can deny that, we have to be smart in our management of him, he is an important cog in our system.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.
