If May is declared fit, why wouldn’t he play?

Adelaide are a really tough team to beat at home, let’s not take them for granted 50/50 game

Nah. May is strictly on a sight seeing tour of Adelaide right now. He's a real church lover is our Maysie

Not knocking Jvr but he's not at his best this year.

We definitely need to have either a petty or Bbb to help him.

I agree his output has been limited this year, but his work rate in the last quarter v Port included lots of crashing packs and 2nd efforts up the ground. This attitude and willingness to compete secures his place in the 22.

Does anyone else see any problems with JVR's dukes? He has been getting good hands to the ball but nothing seems to be sticking. He's been busting packs but at the same time has spilled a few marks I expected him to take.

I think there's a 90% chance Tex is rested this week, everyone on Adelaide big footy say his back is shot right now, can't run, can't bend over, can't get his arms above his head. He's also coming off of a 6 day break and a 4 hour flight.

However, hard to say since the consensus on Adelaide big footy is they want about 8 dropped including a newly extended coach.

In my mind.   Even if May is declared fit I would rest him for the following week.

only change might be Woey in Billing’s sub

or they might also bring in Tommo for I don’t know !

go Dee’s.  4 wins one loss coming up.

i will take that !

He's not afraid of getting hurt.

And yep he's still best 22.

He's done a great deal up fwd often without another successful tall to take away quality defenders

a tip FTB

we drove on game day last year and West Hwy busy

allow for lots of breaks and fools who want to tailgate on the single lane hwy

and listen to DL podcasts!

We leaving at 5am and I will be the one tailgating people going under the speed limit lol.

Thinking the club might be grooming Hore as our regular sub unless injuries call for him to play. Offers a fair bit of flexibility.

I know Crows have been terrible but they will throw everything at us this week. The five day break isn't too good either.

I don't think this will be a walkover. But how sweet it will be if we come back with two wins from this interstate ordeal.

Contrary to a few on this thread, I don’t mind we’re playing both Adelaide teams in a row, and with one game as the gather round game. It means we don’t have to potentially play a third game in Adelaide, as well as getting to play/watch a Melb based team in Melbourne rather than Adelaide (as well as less travel all round).

it’s just the 5 day break that sucks

I love that Billings delivers a good ball but I believe the pace of the PA game was too quick for him.

Must have the ball to kick it.

Are you suggesting he’s lost a [censored]?

Maybe, In Harms Way, although PA are quick around the ball .

Still think that Billings is an uptick on Hunter.

Has to get the ball though.

If there is no change to the squad I would probably swap Woey for Billings.

If May comes in then Billings out, Hore as the sub.

I wouldn't! Billings was fantastic vs Hawks last week!

I might get howled down but JVR hardly ever takes a one grab mark. Jefferson will leap frog him soon enough! Now there is a bloke that takes one grab clunkers

I'm still backing Jvr to keep improving.

I think it’s a handy back up tool but if we ever can get our talls settled and healthy we’ll go for a runner.

We need to give the bursts of game time to the likes of Taj and Laurie too.

As good as Windsor has been I’d give the kid a spell especially with the five day break

Give Woey a full game, Billings the sub & fit May in if fit😀

I'm not the greatest woey fan, but I think that is probably right. And tell woey now.

Agree, though not as bad as the Weed.

JVR tends to turn his hands so his palms are nearly in a straight plane. Needs to make a bit of a pouch.

I am a Stafford knocker, don't think he is up to the finer details in AFL. When drilling the high marks, he is on the bag. How can he instruct from that position?

Hoping we get a specialist marking coach in. Kossie also needs some guidance with the speccy.

In the previous game we competed a few times in the air against each other. Pack marks marks aren't our speciality yet.

C'mon Jacob, be clean.

Kiddy doesn’t need any specs high mark training at all. He just needs to be banned from trying ridiculously for overhead marks in general.

It's probably what got us out of playing Kardinia for the fiftieth year in a row.

Kiddy means Kossie !!

Kossie must have a licence to fly.

He is getting better at the timing, though plucking them is still away off.

He seems to want it, wouldn't take his joy. When he starts clunking them, his confidence will see him take Mark Of The Year.

In the least, he has to play smart, and know when to stay down and crumb.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
