Sure no fist, but it looked to me like he didn't hit him with his palm or fingers, but with the hard bone next to the wrist.  Can be as damaging as a fist if you get the swing right.

Karate chops can cause immense damage. No fist required.
Gut punches/ belly taps have no place in the game.  They are NOT footy actions and never should be

No way was HQ having the Pies 0-4

Your constant conspiracy theorising is tiresome.

Also, probably not accurate here. How much media was generated by their 0-3 start? It was all over every paper and website. The more they lose, the more attention they get.

Totally agree.  Hipwood was terrible again and Joey couldnt mark a blackboard.

What is it with those two. Is it because they don't have to beat anyone else to get into the team. Where is their pride.

And number four maggot from pies running around trying to kick and maim wherever he can.

What's with the outfits these two teams are wearing??  If they'd both just worn their traditional jumpers, there would be no clash!  I just don't get it!  Aren't the teams proud of their jumpers any more??

Well, it is the day for it.

Curniw is the most blessed forward in the comp. Can’t breathe on him.

Or McKay, apparently.

If I was the brand manager at the Bulldogs I’d be calling the AFL and asking who approved this North jumper.

All I see is the dogs jumper.

they've all been there tho

No they haven’t.

Its not a free when the back man touches his opponents side and the forward  holds his hand in.

It’s also not a free kick when the forward just throws one arm behind him and the umpire imagines it is being held.

Soft as butter some of their frees giving charity goals.

  • GAMEDAY: Western Bulldogs

It's Game Day and the Demons will be running out on the field with a new Head Coach, albeit a caretaker, for the first time in 3,060 days when they face the Western Bulldogs at the MCG today. What do you want to see from the Demons in the first match of the Post Simon Goodwin era?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
