People have killed for less, right?

My good news for today is that I went to a shopping centre and came out alive!

Shops shut for only two days a year, xmas day and Good Friday. On the eve of both, shopping centres are war-zones. It’s every man for himself, kill or be killed.

Supermarkets are the worst. It’s like folks are shopping to restock their underground bunkers for the apocalypse. One day without access to shops turns people into wild beasts.

Anyways, apart from being told off by a Karen and having a bloke in steel-capped boots tread on my toes, I came out relatively unscathed.

Very good news indeed!

This resonates greatly, as I type this post while sitting in the car outside my folks' house, after venturing out into the wilderness of Fitzroy, Melbourne, to perform very last minute Christmas shopping. Popped into a Woolies for some oranges - half the stock was gone, and people were circling everywhere like sharks!

It’s cutthroat out there, DP! The quick and the dead. Glad you survived 😁

Awful lot of bunkers out there heavily stocked with prawns. Not an ideal long-term companion to wait out the nuclear winter, I'd say.

As for the good news, since there's already been some toddler joy! My rapidly-less-tiny about-to-be-6-month-old is about to get back from visiting the in-laws overseas. He's been utterly loved by his little cousins and has survived the attacks of swarms of asian aunties.

Fun fact - all babies get nicknames in Vietnam, often well before birth, and they are often used in priority over actual names, especially among family. So when Sam is in a group with his little cousins, they are 'Pumpkin', 'Peppermint leaf', and 'Moon' - all one-syllable words in Vietnamese so it sounds cuter. I don't even know their formal names!

Two days ago I finally found the battery cover for the tv remote. Been looking for months.

Phew. Bloody kids.

Kozzie Pickett won’t be suspended for 4 ? Of the first games in 2026

Good news! I'd rather England persist with this. 😂

My good news is that my older brother lived to see another Christmas. He’s very ill and I was grateful to spend some time with him today. Love you, Bro.

Had to cross the West Gate Bridge and the road works hadnt started.

Having our traditional Boxing Day do at mine and my niece’s Collingwood loud-mouthed mullet of a boyfriend can’t make it.

Me and the rest of my fam right now…

Happy Seinfeld GIF

Went to local supermarket with a bag full of fake snakes, after scattering the contents randomly, I had no problems at all, aisles were clear and I shopped effortlessly!

He was a good boy this year. More than impressed he didn’t get pinged by the MRO, and touch wood will play his first round 1 game since 2023.

"Good news" is totally out of place on Demonland.

Welcome back.

My little grandy found these pom-poms at mine and immediately fell in love with them, to the point where she refused to let go of them. She even napped while holding them. This started off as good news and it still is, to me. To her parents, not so much. 🤭

Until this moment I had no idea you could pluck stawberries out of the face of toddlers.

(I didn't sleep well, okay?)

Little Sam is keeping you up at night?

Helenka feeds herself and has done for a while, but yesterday she had to be hand-fed. Any attempt to “disarm” her was met with a perfectly honed you’re gonna have to prise these outta my cold dead hands look. 😅

The good news is that I have another brainteaser all lined up and set to taunt you yet again.

In less positive news, what Santa left for me was a little disappointing.

I'm definitely excited. 😵‍💫😵‍💫

England has just dropped off the chase for Essendon's claim to worst failure streak in world sport.

This is good news because it makes Essendon look even sillier.
