They get Scott Welchโ€™s boy via FS next season. Looks fairly handy so wonder will they look at packaging some first rounders next year for a top pick before Welsh gets nominated or to target a ready made player like Petty

Petty came to mind for me as well. Welsh is a beauty, they may be hoping to have have WCโ€™s pick land ahead of a bid for Welsh and have 2 high draft pick-worthy kids to look forward to.

Please not Nick Watson. We had the original Wizard. ย Watson is a small one position forward pocket. He was not effective in the midfield this year as shown in the GF. Sure heโ€™s got tricks but we have Kozzy and need more midfield or key back youngsters like Curtin, Sanders, Leake, Oโ€™Sullivan or Windsor. ย

We've traded pick 42, so if Kynan Brown is picked in the draft we won't be able to match.ย

We will get him as a rookie if no one calls out his name.ย

They clearly don't love himย

Are they still serving pre draft cocktails??ย

More like raspberry lemonades with extra sugar from the look of those kids during the live cross to Brownie!

Wonโ€™t be picked. Locked in for a spot on the rookie list.

Love how they drop that TRADE IS IN sign as Eagles are โ€˜thinkingโ€™

Made a few jump of their seats i bet

My god why did it take so long for west coast to tell us they're picking Harley?

Also what happened to the clubs reading out the players they are draftingย

The AFL probably forces it to be that way for fake drama.

And are they thinking about no 3

Typical AFL. I will come back around 8.30 they might have got to 6 by then.ย

Where have you been?

They haven't done this for a number of years.

Honestly I haven't watched a draft for awhile. Only tuning in tonight to see our picks 7 & 11

The players get drafted well before the TV says they are. Itโ€™s so they can get the interviews and analysis in.

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

โ€œDiscoโ€ took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.ย

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.ย  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.
