Sander and Wilson would be our dream scenario.

Don’t want 2 mids. Caleb Windsor is the outside mid who runs and runs and kicks goals he is a jet IMO and just what our mids need up bolster our run and carry plus as a goal kicking on baller.

Curtin if available as a versatile tall for defence and can play up forward also. Or Caddy maybe.

Once Gold Coast select all their academy players, plus Hawks and Dogs take their F/S options pick 42 may come into a pick in the mid 30s. You would think that may interest Geelong if they want to be taking multiple players at the draft.

They currently have picks 8, 25, 76, 87 & 94.

Hawks and dogs picks used for matching F/S will be after 42. They each have one early pick and then only late picks to be used for points.

Only GCS picks will be before 42, six picks before then to go towards 3 players.

3 GCS+Croft+McCabe=5

GCS use 6 picks before our 42

So our pick should move up to 41

Is that correct?

We have interest in Darcy Wilson from the Murray Bushrangers.

Cheers DD, I’d assume he comes into pick 11 calculations

Yep, Dees both have interest in O'Sullivan and Wilson.

Geelong, GWS and Adelaide especially have significant interest in 'Sully'

I'm sure we have a range players in mind for pick 11 but that's all I know from up this regional way.

Makes sense if we went that way take the key tall with first pick and a midfielder with pace who impacts the scoreboard with second pick.

Ling range prediction is next years draft is plentiful with mids so IMO another key tall is needed this year

Pick 6 O’Sullivan

Pick 11 Windsor

Pick 42 Developing Ruck / running defender

Key back / fwd in O’Sullivan

Ball use and Elite runner in Windsor

Will Sully go before Curtin? It seems that clubs are loosing interest by the day in Curtin.. Who is actually the better player?

Wouldn’t say they are losing interest I’d think they expect West Coast to still do some sort of deal with North.
Hard to say who’s the better player at this stage , haven’t seen O’Sullivan live. I’ve seen a lot of Curtin live playing all 3 lines

I think we'd be looking at O'Sullivan with pick 11 more then anything.

I could be wrong but.

Yeah potentially Sanders and O’Sullivan if available

I’d be delighted if we got both. Think key defender is our biggest need so Curtain or O'Sullivan and mid is our second biggest need. Only saw Wilson play couple of games but was very impressed. Perfect for the modern game and our system.

I can see both being already gone by our second pick though.

You rate Curtain very highly though Pennant? I watched his highlights last night and highlights of some of the WA games. Looks very mobile, good kick and loves a tackle.
I think him being available at 6 is our best possible scenario at this stage for a number of reasons- he would be best available and fit our needs but also he would give us much more options of trading up or out.

Up for pick one or 3, or Cal mentioned last week that WC would probably  put their future first on the table for him if we wanted to trade out.

If he is rated a top 3 talent we should draft him and back out program to keep him long term.  He would be perfect for our backline with his long kicking especially if Rivers spends more time in midfield next year. For someone at KPP height he plays like a big bodied midfielder. Aka the Bont.

Yes I have rated him for a while, I have watched him play and done some work with him.

Some of what I have seen him do on the track has me excited about his ceiling and where he could end up.

Some senior players who have played with him talk very highly of him in regards to his professionalism, strength and maturity.

Certainly a lot to work with, but again I am biased and been exposed to the WA boys a lot more than others who I’ve only seen on screen

We should be signalling to WC that we love Curtin and are happy to take him at 6 and don't feel any need to trade up.  Reverse the onus on them trading picks and see if they can come up with an attractive offer to us.

Not a surprise, strikes me as a JT type of player, he’s been my preferred option at 11 for a while but might to be picked at 6 if we want him.

Possibly why we wanted to move our second pick slightly higher..?

I’m almost certainly wrong because those 2 are very solid prospects but am I completely crazy to like a 3rd Bushranger as much if not more? He’s not nearly as proven or well rounded but give me Phoenix.

He’s not draft standard. Coached against him this yr.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
