Well done Jack and Trac. Would love to see Viney at least get on the bench.

I mean come on

Hawks, Freo and Essendon with 3 players. Melbourne with 2.

Tom Stuart ahead of Lever and May?

Petracca is a lock and it’s good to see Viney get some recognition.
May could consider himself a little stiff to miss the squad but wouldn’t be a realistic chance for the team.

It’s the giggle brothers most liked rather than true best in positions.  Pies are flavour of the month so get a stack.  Could easily cut 20 or so from this list.

no Bont?  Come on!  This is a joke

Bont is in, you need to press the imbedded image to see the full list.

I love how bottom 8 sides got 3 players in but we couldn't get more than 2. Seems about right.

You know what I like most about our 2023 year?  The way that pretty much most of our players, all that we do and have done thus far seems to have gone under most commentators and opposition spectators radars….. all year long.
I love it.  The Sydney game in such a hostile environment was absolutely fantastic.  We are serious contenders.  Can’t wait for September.

2 players for what is arguably a team finishing 2nd on the ladder.

Please, the disrespect that we continue to get from the media is an absolute farce. I hope there are some sore ego's from this and that they'll show the selector's how wrong they were in the coming weeks.

Also, what is the love for the bottom sides? Bar a handful of standout performances (Larkey). As a general rule if you are bottom 6, "Thank you, come again (next year)".

Im surprised Buckley just didn't name the entire CFC. Quaynor and Nick Daicos are the only ones deserving of the AA.

I hope this makes the boys realise that nobody wants us to win. There’s no media story, no romance - just the best system and mindset of any team in the league.

I’d be annoyed, if I didn’t think it was a sign of just what a good TEAM we are.

So the all Australian Squad has come out and interestingly only Viney and Petracca are in it.

Pretty interesting considering we’re 4th on the ladder.

I don’t know if others think this is a damning indictment on the squad selection or this means that we have spread the load across all of our players so much that apart from Viney or Tracc, there haven’t been any other glaring standouts.

I view this as a good thing in a way.

Thoughts?

There's tough competition for him but I hope Nick Larkey gets a jacket. Some effort to kick 71 goals in a team as bad as North were this year.

He actually wins the Coleman if you remove the goals Walker and Curnow kicked against West Coast and North.

He absolutely deserves a jacket.

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
