Preemptive congrats on your huge Pointsbet haul for next week (and the week after).

Are you saying I am wrong?

Carlton, then Brisbane, then.....GWS......quite the journey to win the flag.

All super quick on the turnover.. exactly where we’re the most exposed and vulnerable.

Were gonna need a minor miracle to get past Carlton and Brisbane.

Tell our guys to watch Brisbane on tonight’s replay and copy their forward players!

Port looks vulnerable at home against the Giants. So many injuries.

No PF this year will be a major disappointment, as if they needed something more to be unhappy with Henkley.

I don't know, unlike you I can't predict the future.

I would say a major miracle

Have you ever received any praise or feedback from the players about the banners?

I’ve personally received thanks for our work on the banners from BBB, Melksy and Ricky Lever, as well as from Richo, Perty and of course Kate. We don’t seek/expect thanks but it’s really nice when it happens. ❤️💙

That’s fantastic from those three legend players to show their appreciation.

Who was that player you were talking about that does the complete opposite?

Brisbane do this amazing thing where they allow their fellow forward to mark it without crashing into and spoiling them! We should try it 🤔

Watching the Lions actually makes me feel better about our situation. I thought our finals efforts last year were pathetic but thought we were only at best the 2nd best team in it...didn't think we could beat Geelong anyway.

Doubt we'd have much chance against Bris this year...our intensity lapses will see 6+ goals piled on us by these guys. It's easier to move on from a disappointing end when there's a clearly superior outfit in the mix.

Anyone got the knackers to book a flight to Brisbane for prelim final weekend before the airlines go all Alan Joyce on us in the coming days.

Considering it. My mum knows a fair few I'm sure from back in my 5-7 year old years when we lived up there. Free accommodation with a stranger who remembers me from 25 years ago but I don't remember them AND a humiliating defeat in a prelim interstate? Hello 2018 my old friend.

what about when we beat the Pies and Brisbane and Swans away.

were they miracles?

Except Port won’t win. It is going to take a major upset to not be a Collingwood Brisbane grand final. I cannot see either of GWS or Port beating Collingwood in the prelim, nor can I see Brisbane losing to Carlton.

Geez, I’m not so sure about this.

GWS look like they’re the most in form team and the most ‘ready for finals at the G’ type team.

I reckon they’ll beat Port next week and have a very similar game plan to the Pies. Will be tough for them to beat the pies but if they make the granny and they’re playing the Lions, I think they’ll beat them.

I watched them in a lot of games during the season and deadset, Kingsley has primed them to be a finals team. They finished way lower on the ladder than they should have by losing games early in the season to the Bombers, Tigers and EAGLES.

Doesn’t matter where they play, they believe they can win.

There’s also some 2 star Brisbane airport motels if you’re desperate.

As long the cancellation/deferral fees aren’t brutal, I’m seriously considering booking a flight up ASAP, with the knowledge that we’re a realistic chance of losing next week.

That’s because he is. 💕

Ben does so many good things off-field without making it known. He’s kind and caring, totally selfless and he’s the nicest person you could ever hope to meet. He listens and is genuinely interested in whatever’s being discussed and he remembers stuff you’ve told him. I can’t sing his praises enough. He’s a very special person.

I doubt we'll beat the Blues with Goodwins bomb it in territory gameplan, the Pies had 18 players inside our 50 waiting for the bombs all night and the Blues will do the same,We don't switch on until we are 4 goals down like against the Tigers and Swans, the Blues jumped the Swans in the first 10 minutes like the Pies did to us and the Blues will be on fire in the first quarter and it'll be all over.

I'd rather play Port in Adelaide if we get that far

Have faith Jack.  I think we'll bounce back convincingly.

They'll do it for Gus mate.

Just got home and seen the score, considering we know Port is overrated we’re Lions brilliant or just ok?

I still think we can win it and if we don’t this year has been a massive failure.

Lions kicked straight all game. Port shot themselves in the foot early. Lost players to injuries. Game. Done.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front.  They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
