Very impressed with JVR, he's taking Weitering to the cleaners

Quality game. I think if we're able to get out the back Carlton are vulnerable but aside from that it's going to be about who wins the most contests.

Wouldn't call it quality but we have way more upside than them, we should get it done

Hunter the sloppiest player I’ve ever seen.

Heart in mouth every time he even picks up the ball as it looks like it will just slip through his fingers.

Ship him off.... I've had enough

I’ve never seen the kind of pressure Carlton are dishing up. It’s beyond extraordinary. Playing out of their skins. They can’t possibly keep it up, and when it drops, we’re in. Well done boys, hold your cool.

Got the same feeling. As bad as we have been with unforced errors, we have absorbed a lot. We can turn it around. I'm not sure Grundy is the answer up fwd.

Ffs this is how they play every week. [censored] me to death people who don't understand teams or formlines heading into a game. They are the best contested team in the league. They are the best defensive team in the league. You're seeing that.

Win this and we can chill out the last two games and have a home first final against Collingwood

The Carlton supporter behind me, I've just about had enough of him. He feels he has to tell out his opinion on every play. If he bags another one of our players I'll scream.

We better win just to shut him up.

Just let him know they haven't made the 8 yet.

Except the kicking at goal bit, 2 x shanks off the ankle....

He's been kicking at 70% efficiency, not a major issue for me if he misses a couple.

Yes.

Right in this game when we absolutely shouldn't be.

Carlton playing as good a footy as they can and we are playing average... yet we're only down by 2 points!

Get some players to lift and we got this.

But what happens to Grundy then?

Knee jerks. His getting the ball. Relax

He rucks more and Gawn helps out the defenders

When?

Only turned it on with 5 mins to go after watching the Matilda’s. Carlton seems to have the numbers, though this is the sort of grind we like. Wouldn’t want them to string a few together. They are playing well, want the scalp

Well I don't think we can play much worse and it's only a two point difference.

If we keep playing our normal game instead of a change up to allow for the comditions we just might!

Still trying for the clean chains of possessions in greasy conditions.

Players like ANB & Sparrow looking to take on the tacklers instead of the quick surge kick forward.

Makes no sense unless the oppo aren't closing and hopeless with their pressure.

Unfortunately the Blues aren't one of those teams.

So we either change the way we play to align with the conditions or it will be a coin flip, or worse!

Will the players get this general message at half time and reset?

If not why not !!??

I don’t think it’s knee jerk. I’m just saying, we will definitely use the sub at some point and this is what I would do get the most out of the sub. That’s all.
We need to go at least half a quarter before we make a sub. It’s too risky to go this early.

Van Rein WTF 25M out

My 16 yo would've nailed those.

What is the twidingly the ball [censored]. Even Trac has stopped that [censored].

Is this what Mark William's teaches?

Salem still looks NQR. Seems slow and reactive.

Ever since I put him in my Fantasy and SC team he's been well off the boil. I've deleted both apps so don't worry he'll come good.

When?

20 minute mark of this third quarter.
Can’t sub off a midfielder this early in case we get an injury.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
