I'm sick of people just saying haphazardly "play the kids." I dont care if we are 0-21 I never want to see up stoop to the level of Carlton and Richmond and play kids for the sake of it. You pick the best team available. Richmond decided to throw in the towel last week and load up on kids, and the rest is history! Petterd has been a magnificent debutant, he is obviously up to it but others (see Garland) might not be.

I'll tell you why you pick Ward ahead of CJ. Because CJ can't get a kick in a street fight at the moment and yes, Ward provides dash, something we need against the Dogs and he played well against them last year. As for Newton, we don't need him when we have Neitz in the square, and possibly Bate and Dunn as alternative forwards. If he was a big a gun as everyone claims he's get a senior crack, and his time will come. I don't think Daniher has his favourites, he picks the best side available. I like Warnock to get another shot too, he has pace and as a defender that means he's halfway there.

The bench should be Johnson, Jones, Warnock, Pickett. Another bad performance out of Pickett and back to Sandy. Colin Sylvia would want to step up soon.

how's the luck, petterd into the dream team, out of the dees team, maybe if i trade him tomorrow he'll make a miraculous recovery

IC: Johnson, Jones, Pickett, Frawley

I think frawleys height and speed would be a plus against the doggies, and they dont have a monster forward to destroy his first game (maybe make rivers play the man, and let frawley play loose for his first game)

i think we're going to be a lot taller than the doggies. whether thats on purpose, and a good idea or not time will tell.

Well it won't rain, that's for sure.

MELBOURNEfc Squad

Backs: D.Ward, N. Carroll, A.Yze

Half backs: N.Brown, J.Rivers, D.Bell

Centerline: M.Bate, J.McDonald, A.Davey

Half forwards: B.Green, B.Miller, C.Bruce

Forwards: C.Sylvia, D.Neitz, B.Moloney

Followers: J.White, S.Godfrey, T.Johnstone

I/C From: P. Johnson, N.Jones, L.Dunn, M.Warnock, B.Holland, J Frawley, B.Pickett

Been there done that once to often with teams that contain :

Ward - N.Brown - Holland & despite travelling OK @ the minute Godfrey

We are no chance if all 4 end up in the 22

Here's Hoping Nephew Of Spud debut's.

None of the talls on the bench will play, Rivers will get Darcy and Carroll on Johnson, the dogs don't have a third tall option up forward. Newton must of upset the coaching staff if Garland and now chip with only one quarter of Vfl reserves under his belt get considered before him. Maybe ND is hiding him to take him to his next coaching job.

yeah he provides dash, he gets the ball, runs 20-30 meters, kicks the ball straight to an opponent then DASH's back as the ball sails over his head and his direct opponent kicks an easy goal, it happens all too often, at least cj will improve if given a chance and atleast he plays tight on his opponent

ward really should only ever play if we have no one else, and i mean no one else

im praying he doesnt get a game

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
