Very ordinary game however there were positives. Nibbler’s continued effort throughout the game. JVR playing his role and now showing good follow-up with his ruck work. McVee is just a cool cat.

Take the 4 points and move on.

I thought that was a good win. Tasmania is a horrible place to play and North are far from terrible over there. It's almost scary how similar today's game was to the last time we played them in Tasmania.

Pickett's last month has been exceptional. He couldn't have picked a better time to get back into form.

I'm worried about Petty's injury though. He just can't take a trick.

Pointless IMO trying to pick final four spots at this stage with so much to play out.

Similar draws for us and Lions but injuries (to own and opponents), grounds (Lions today and at Marvel) and us in Sydney etc.

Viney BOG for me. Stood tall and lead from the front when we were not switched on.

10 clearances, 10 inside 50s

An absolute beast

Just saw on the broadcast Lever seemed shocked by whatever Petty said to him

No he didn't.  In fact petty didn't look like a player who's missing finals.

Optimistic.

After a frustratingly slow start the Demons have rocketed into the Top 3 on the ladder with a victory over the North Melbourne Kangaroos by 32 points in Hobart.

We're 2nd.

We got an unnecessary scare, but took the points. Might have only been against second last, but North came out hungry and we steadied. Good teams do that. Better teams don’t need to (we need to start games ON).

But ultimately it’s a day marred by an injury to our already depleted fwd line. Petty has been an absolute dead eye, I hope it’s not too bad and he’s at least back for finals. We’ll need him.

Otherwise, Kozzie BOG, easy. Viney awesome, he’s having a year. Chandler good. ANB very handy. Melksham unlucky all day, but was involved despite stats not showing. Harmes bad.

Backline will need to start switched on next week against the Blues. Can’t give up goals like that.

Anyway, we push on. Go Dees!

I think you just have to give us credit for the character and ability to dig in today. Collingwood have been getting credit for it all year and it looks like we are building that aspect and never say die attitude too.

Sometimes a good scare is not a bad thing. I hope we will learn from this and bring our A game against Hawks in two weeks.

Glad we won but Q1 and Q4 were embarrassing. 1g 6b in Q4: have the goal-kicking yips returned? And some foot passes in Q1 were awful. It was like we were trying to kick it to North Melbourne! Kicking coach: hellllpppp!

Definitely some Clarko factor in that first quarter and a half. Therefore a good response to have the 4 points effectively sown up at 3 quarter time, unlike Collingwood who couldn’t maintain their momentum yesterday.

Good coaching resting the stars in the last quarter, albeit at the cost of percentage.

Fair to say we’ve done our service for football by playing in Hobart 5 times since 2016, 6 if you count the fact that we were also scheduled there in COVID 2020. A little more than Collingwood and Essendon who have travelled there about zero times in that period.

First quarter was an absolute disgrace. A combination of arrogance, laziness, disorganisation and Clarkson’s sugar hit.

No issues with the last quarter. Goodwin put the cue in the rack at 3 qtr time by giving Gawn, Viney and Trac major bench minutes.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
