What was the deal with the Fitzroy run through WCW? Particularly the back side. It looked like a 5 year old kids school project.

LOL. Their backing looks like faded plastic picnic tablecloths glued together, and the graphic… I don’t know what the hell that was, but close up it was tiny and unclear so I can only imagine how bad it looked from afar.

I have a lot of time for Caroline Wilson. She is a proper journalist.

She had a niche - the politics of football, and is still the best at reporting on the back room stuff.

Unfortunately her niche has become the template and has metastasised into the gutter gossip peanuts like to Tom Morris trade in.

Click bait chasing ****knuckles

Respect your  opinion but somehow I feel she is the "mouthpiece" of the AFL when they want certain stories "out there".

Only 39k but at the ground the dees fans were brilliant and super loud in the last quarter.

I have zero doubt it was a big factor.

Good work dees fans.

I concur. Especially in the last few minutes of the 4th qtr. After Viney's gutsy and gobsmackingly inspirational effort and goal when he literally ripped the ball from Oscar McInernay's hands, spun, got clear and kicked truly on his right foot, the deafening chanting of "Melbourne (clap clap clap)" either side of me was a stereophonic head-spin that saw bolts unriveting from the support poles on level 2 the Olympic Stand  The volume further surpassed WH&S limits when Melksham marked and goaled to put us in front. And then, to top things off, when we'd won, the Demon faithful singing the song so loud that it drowned out the version coming from loudspeakers will be something I NEVER forget. What a win. What a way to introduce a mate to the footy and entice him to become a MFC supporter. What a memory to treasure. Onwards and upwards, go the mighty Dees!

Anybody still around that remembers a bloke called Tassie Johnson.

Well he was there for a few minutes in spirit in that last Qtr.

Ah. That brylcreem hair style. Had many chats to him after matches way back when.

Crowd support only matched in our first final of 87. What a night. Will never forget the combined spirit of the crowd and our fab players ladt night

I feel like we rarely win games like that so it was such a nice change to be the one who stole it as opposed to being stolen against. When I woke up this morning had to check again that it wasn’t a dream and we really did come back and win it.

The Rnd 23 2021 win will always be my favourite come from behind win but last night is right up there. Reminiscent of the 2000 QF victory.

The 3AW call on Viney is just so so good!

(They call Melksham JVR in the call of the Melksham grab though 😂)

Prefer the MMM call as they turn the crowd noise up for a better reaction.

How good was Rivers play to rebound off HB to make that forward play that resulted in the Milkshakes mark and goal.

Kid will be a recognised star of the competition soon enough

Lucky you. An early dinner after work and settling down for an early match. Early enough for the kids want to watch if there "Dee's".

Captured on Ch 7 broadcast too.

I just shake my head with some of that Underwood women's comments. Brian Taylor is looking not too bad against her.

My only gripe was JVR got a massive shove directly in front which wasn’t paid and then Daniher got his later on.

Both were free kicks but only one was paid.

Overall, the umpiring we have had this has been good, the Richmond game was by far the worst.

Even though our instincts can often only see one way, we need to see the other side of the ledger as well.  Therefore, the Lions supporters would have also expected more free kicks.  They are no different to us

The disecting of the actual game in a tactical sense is way way more interesting

Last night's game was a beauty and of high standard.  Umpired well although there were a few errors (the players made more errors)

In my view if the umps can get it right 8 out of 10 times they're doing well.  In other sports the expectation might be 9 out of 10

It's daylight to the next hardest game to officiate.  Nothing comes close

I was at the lights outside the Gabba last week, Zorko and Rayner and some others were waiting at the lights right next to me, I put the passenger side window down and said “Hey Zorko, keep Pettys mothers name out your [censored] mouth” he told to jam it but the other boys loved it.

I thought I couldn’t possibly despise him any more than I already do. But, here we are.

This is why Andy keeps paying those server bills - to highlight heroic efforts like this.

That had nothing to do with the game - he had his Roaming Brian mic on in the toilet.

The Brisbane Lions are very dislikeable 🤢

I was so annoyed by how they were grabbing Trac at every stoppage 😠

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
