That’s disgraceful. Melksham and May are actually good friends. They had a moment, and it ended up being a public incident.

That’s so poor to try and create a link to that, where none exists.

Another reason Underwood is unlistenable.
Saw them enthusiastically embrace at the final siren.

I’m watching the replay. Jack Viney’s goal was even better on TV.

His willpower is unbelievable.

Absolutely inspirational get and goal. There was no way he would let the Bear hang on to that ball.  What a warrior.

Big shout out to our supporters whether they be Demon Army, MFC members, MCC members or casual attendees, our noise and support level seems to have grown louder and louder as the season has worn on. When Melk kicked that goal you couldn't hear yourself speak.

Just on the umpiring ... mine is an unpopular view but we shouldn't have any complaints from an overall perspective

If anything, we had the better of the decisions not that, that made any difference to the final result

I thought the game was well umpired and I don't get the angst towards the actual umpires who officiated.

We won the game fair & square

Gotta keep playing the corridor, strongly supported by 'run-past' flankers, rovers and screaming enthusiasts that pre-pick targets downfield. Next time we play the Lions, will somebody please drop Zorko, and Daniher could do with a new facial reconstruction after his staging efforts - these are the keys to his game - well ahead of footballing skills.

Goodwin keeping Petty on nearly cost us the game

Yep, yep, yep. I feel sorry for Petty as a result - unable to continue with a hurt, previously damaged injury - expected to play out a time period by the 'caring' coach who ignored his sad inability to further contribute to the game. Had JSmith come on at that very moment of injury, who knows what might have happened to the Lions' lead? When Joel did get the nod to go onfield, he showed what was needed and stood some torrid treatment, as well.

Umpiring was fine but it's the randomness of when decisions are paid . not paid that gets on my goat.

This is the play that symbolised the last quarter. One team just wanted it more.

One of Rivers' finest moments ever.   Just didn't want to let the Bears have the ball, and wanted us to win.

It could have been his grandmother who kicked the winning goal, he wasn't going near it.

May was playing the anchor role, standing in his own half when Melksham took his kick. To celebrate would mean a 50 metre sprint, then a 100 metre sprint back with 30 seconds left on the clock.  May is intense until the final siren is over (see GF spray of Trac).

As another example, after Woey kicked his goal, everyone got around quickly. May and Petty were back of the centre circle. May looked at Petty and kinda shrugged to say should we go over? They eventually did, but yea it's just not in May's nature to be celebrating until the 4 points are banked.

Can’t believe I left with my son with 8 mins & 24 points down… unbelievable

I regretted leaving early last year and missed Kozzie kicking the sealer against Carlton. I resolved to never leave early after that. So glad I stayed to the end and witnessed the Dees win last night. What a finish! Took a mate and lent him a scarf to entice him to become a Dees supporter. The final 5 minutes Dees crowd were SO loud. Fantastic team effort - one of the best comeback wins ever this one. Canonic chanting of "Melbourne (clap clap clap)" either side of us and then when we'd won and the song sung so loud it literally drowned out the version from the loudspeakers. I think I just may have convinced my mate to join, he took the scarf home...

I was hyperbolic saying we got nothing. We had the slight edge as we should’ve winning the contested ball.

I was upset with JVR got a monster shove out square in the back and not long after Daniher takes a huge dive when May rested his hands on either side of his hips for balance.

The ump was 40m away. I’m convinced 4 umpires haven’t done a better job officiating inside 50’s, if anything they get caught out worse now than ever as the middle umps assume the inside 50 ump has an angle on every contest rather than trying to cover each other. That’s a structural issue.

I also think we’ve been playing Brisbane for years and had them scrag our mids and forwards with early tackles, force turnovers and take the ball away. Every side does it but for Brisbane it’s a clear tactic against us. It’s at the stage where I’m shocked Goodwin hasn’t gone public with it. Brisbane’s mids are smaller and lighter than ours and have a plan to tackle, which is legal, but starting those tackles before the player gets the ball is not.

After about the 5th consecutive incident of Starcevich tackling Petracca at forward 50 stoppages we got the free. The crowd caught on to it before the umps and made some noise. Rare and impressive work from the demon fans.

I believe some of that antagonism comes from a sense of separation.

The games build up by MC's and advertisers also encourage us and them.

I believe in the AFL community as a whole, and not as separate tribes.

A bit funny aren't I. Sing both songs, applaud both sides, though heavily invested in MFC as well.

I also understand why there is a need to keep away from it. I am often cautious and will walk on the better side of the street and not into the more dangerous areas.

Where are these dangerous areas?

I was talking about society in general.

Mexico city, I'm not going down the area the police don't go.

Paris, I'm not going towards the racist ranting at a person from Nth Africa.

If I see the crazy yelling at police, I walk away not towards.

A night out in kampala, Uganda. I'm not walking out to where freedom fighters hang out.

Harran, Turkiye, I'm not going into the fundamentalist area.

Though those drunks, rambling and raving worry me, I really do cross the streets to keep away from that inebriated, uncensored rabble.

All I have learnt from experience. Could keep giving examples if you want.

And 4 points off Port.

The top 4 has always been so much closer than the media narrative frames it.

Port could very well lose this week and the next 3 weeks.

IMV, top 2 is still on.

Superman Joe! Almost flew 10 metres.

Maybe, just maybe the Daniher & Lloyd families were friends when the kids were young with one family having a pool. Clearly Matthew taught young Joe how to dive. And we all know Matthew should have been representing Australia in the Olympics for diving.  Old habits passed on.

Watched the game with my wife and our 3 day old daughter, Remi, in a private room in the mat ward.

It’s fair to say I will never ever forget this game.

We had absolutely lost that game, until we won it.

Melk’s mark and goal was immense.

Signing up Remi as soon as I finish reading some of the threads here - she’ll be a Demon for life.

Congrats!

If that’s your first, well done and stop there!! No need for another.

If it’s your second…

Congrats!

My only gripe was JVR got a massive shove directly in front which wasn’t paid and then Daniher got his later on.

Both were free kicks but only one was paid.

Overall, the umpiring we have had this has been good, the Richmond game was by far the worst.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
