Let's face it, a lot depends on three players in Kozzie, Jvr and Bbb. The first have been out of form and the latter played very little footy .

But like the Pies game, I think we've got this for some reason.

Hope we win in the ruck - no Grundy may change the psyche of Max

Max has struggled with tall, gawky ruck opponents in the past

Limit the influence of Neale and that other young kid (whose name escapes me - looks fairly suited to owning a long sword and drinking mead)

This guy?

Goals are worth their weight in this one, imagine if Nibbler kicks 2, is that worth a nudie run?

Tonight would also be the perfect time for @picket fence 's favourite player - "Spargypants" - to bob up and snag 2 or 3!

The good news is that Kozzie could not have possibly played a worse career game than last week, so that can only be a positive in terms of our scoring avenues.

I'm feeling good vibes about Kozzie tonight. Performs well against the Lions, in fact he's kicked more goals on them than any other team.

Oh, you have NO IDEA how much I want this to happen!

Going tonight with three lads,

not normally super confident usually pessimistic but quite confident about tonight’s game    Not sure why but I think one goal or two a quarter better than them.

hope so anyway.  Go Dees

will sit behind goals western stand end

Go Dees warm the night up

Totally! I mean, it’s not like those security guards are gonna catch you.

Incidentally, re the guy who did the bare-chested pitch invasion a few weeks ago, the media reported that he was caught and fined. Yeah nah, he was on a tram home before those guards even made it to the boundary fence. 😆

Unless of course Jonny’s out in the middle…

Really can't afford to have Geelong within two points or Bombers equal points as us. We play well at the MCG and the Lions don't. Bring it home and take another season scalp. I keep expecting Kozzie to kick a few and I'm convinced this is the night for it. Hopefully both he and Spargo. Trac is slotting them nicely and Jvr, Milk and Bbb are great set shots. We are all keen to see a fwd structure that kills it. This is the business end now. I want to smash this mob. Let's keep those rotations through the middle with Trac spending time up forward. Including Kozzie and Rivers...maybe even Salo.

What a fail that was! +1 for security.

Can we recruit him as I feel we didn't replace Hunt?

This Bairstow character is getting a bit of airtime lately, maybe I should watch!

Love how the [censored] has his arm in the air like he's winning.....your being carried off the ground like a rag doll at an international sports event fgs.

I might add that I think that was Johnny's only catch for the series this far.

Now is the time: mongrel, space, leading, absolute support for all, aggressive defence. Dees by 20 pts.

Hope we get a decent crowd. Seems like more than a few dlanders are going. Been a while now since we've played at home too. Let's get comfy and win these next three games there.

Looking at the fixture it's quite conceivable that Power finsh first. Technically we could finish third  as our run home is fairly soft.

Have to win CPs, stoppages and ground balls. Do that and I can't see us losing.

Replacing a ruckman with a genuine forward changes the balance from last week. It will be very interesting to see whether this means Petracca spends more time midfield or whether we use the opportunity to keep him forward to see how well he melds with Brown, van Rooyen and the others.

From the nominated emergencies, I'd be shocked if anyone other than Smith is the sub.

One, that would mean rubbing shoulders ( Urgh ) with plebeians - a fate to be avoided at all costs.

And two .... most horribly .... the terrifying probability  of the train picking up neanderthals at St. Albans!

No, I shall travel in one The Manor's comfortable fleet in far better company.

Any chance of a lift LOL

Back at the ‘Home of Football’.  Our time starts now!  Dees by 4 or 5 goals.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
