So Cunrow can hardly score a vote all season and Fritsch gets 2 votes for kicking 4?

...Well I guess consistency isn't exactly a strong suit of umpires is it.

Gus had 37 versus North. He deserved 3. But Hunter and Fritta over Trac against North and Sydney is a joke.

My player ratings in those two.....

Vs Norf...

1.  Hunter > 6.05

2.  Tracc > 5.90

3.  Gus > 4.90

Vs Swans...

1.  Clarry > 4.57

2.  Viney > 4.50

3.  Tracc > 3.85

(Fritsch ranked 6th > 3.55)

Not sure how Fritsch got votes ahead of Tracc, who had a huge influence on the outcome of the game in the second half.

Do not take the award off the umpires unless you really do want to see the voting rigged. Yes, it's sometimes a dog's breakfast but the alternative is ex - players easily compromised.

Seems Trac and Bont are destined to never win one despite being the best players every year and influencing games more than their peers. Both got robbed of clear votes tonight.

Trac getting no votes in the final game was stupid. Getting 1 vote for his game against the Saints was stupid.

The umpires are stupid. I’m [censored] sick of them. The umpires have determined the outcome of games this year and legitimately shaped the entire finals series. It’s beyond pathetic and as someone who’s attending 100s of live games since the 1980s, I’m thiiiiiiis close to giving up on the sport because of their [censored] incompetence and the rules being so vague etc. Stuff this

Don't forget Clarry.

It's a travesty Neale has two and clarry none.

At least Clarry has two coaches'. Neale zero.

It's clear our club has no power within AFL house, house of crooks!

Let's face it it.
If Trac could kick he'd romp in a couple Brownlows.
His Achilles heal.

You can leave a comment here if you want to tell the AFL what you think of their medal. https://twitter.com/AFL/status/1706290651099488688

The issue is that you’re dealing with corporate psychopaths and narcissists at the top of the AFL. You could have a million comments or a million signatures on a petition and they would not care.

Work out a way for the coaches to vote. They get it right most weeks.

I will take that chance. There would be lots of ways of ensuring that the voting isn't rigged. The current system is a joke.

Did Goody moving him cost him the Brownlow lol

Brownlow Shmownlow

Also, I dropped a crystal vase today and it broke into a million pieces. Should I blame Goody for that, too?

Gulden was a certainty for 3 in the last, with 42 and 2 goals. Got 1 vote.

Bont was the unlucky one, with that crappy 3 to Neale, for a nothing game of 21 possies and no scores. How can Kelly 42 and Coniglio 38 in that Neale game get no votes?

We know who Maynard will accidentally target.

that’s how almost every award in the world works. a hell of a lot better that umpires who haven’t played at the top level or sometimes any level

Rohan Marshall with just the 3 votes got massively dudded too. Especially since Brad Crouch was ‘awarded’ 18.

Crouch had more votes than Curnow. who had one if the best fwd seasons for years

I actually feel a bit for Neale, and wouldn’t be surprised if this affects his GF game. During his speech, “it doesn’t sit well with me at all to be honest”.

Maybe GD. I'm just suggesting that an umpire likely has more credibility and moral fortitude than some narcissistic vanker from AFL House.

He is a lovely humble guy and I don’t think he deserves the wave of anger that he’s going to cop now. He didn’t do anything wrong and he didn’t ask for the votes or the win.

He will now get caught up in this conversation that he’s an unworthy winner and frankly I think he agrees. Hope it’s not a distraction come Saturday. A Norm Smith will shut people up pretty quickly.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
