Melbourne 2024 Cattery

I thought Grundy was pretty good tonight. Held his marks better than most

Make a statement but can you back it up. Who the hell was another elite player Trac-man?

Reckon a fair assessment Joeboy. Can't argue with any

I’m saying he wasn’t a elite player tonight or were you watching a different game?

Petracca's worst game for the year. Can't believe you could say it was an elite performance.

Worst game ever for the Club. Tomlinson did not deserve to be dropped

I can't believe we flick a player like Jayden Hunt and keep players like Spargo and Chandler. My god we are an ordinary team. Time to swing the axe, play the next gen.

Petracca - Melbourne’s best butcher

Nup Brawshaw was terrible last night. Don’t remember him hitting a target by foot. Absolute liability

Gawn - actually looked disinterested

Grundy - better than Gawn

Viney - showed some heart

Neal-Bullen - reacts before thinks

Chandler - can't keep carrying

Rivers - Close to best

Fritsch - more cameo efforts

Pickett - concerning post contract

Salem - played quite well

Brayshaw - some absolute howlers

Langdon - not very effective

Petracca - battled heavy tag

Hunter - a good effort

Hibberd - not his best

van Rooyen - very little impact

Jordon - looked at sea

McVee - disappointing last night

May - easily won duel

Lever - did his job

Petty - really looked underdone

Spargo - hardly ever sighted

Swallow - very limited impact

Smith - defensive game missing

Not sure Joeboy watched the game this week.

Gawn - Drinking Bath Water

Petracca - Kicking beyond abysmal

Neal Bullen - Get out my [censored] club (might have gone over the word limit with this one)

Goodwin - Plan A forever

Hardly noticed Sparrow but he had 19 touches. Needed to use that long kick a bit more.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
