If we get in a close game in Adelaide the umpiring becomes stacked against us at the finish as happened in 2018 against Port and in 2021 against Crows.

And 2023 against Port. 10 frees to 2 in last quarter of close game.

Ok so Butler concussed Blakey who not only missed a critical part of last night but misses a game next week as well. 1.5 games in total. Medium impact.

Hunter makes contact with Rozee, who gets up like a Jack rabbit, kicks the winning goal and then goes on to have 27 touches the following week against Richmond. Medium impact.

Exhibit A - victim is concussed. Misses remainder of game and a season “in balance” game next week against Brisbane. Medium impact.

Exhibit B - Victim is the second most influential player on the ground after the incident and then goes on to have another near BOG performance the following week. Medium impact.

How’s that for consistency from the MRP.

Blakey was not concussed. He passed all the tests. They subbed him out because a a toe issue he took into the game. From the Horse's mouth

Hawks going for 4 in a row against the Lions, would be lovely if it happens.

Hawks playing very well. doubt they can keep this going for 4 quarters. They have typically tired and fell away in the 3rd quarter of games against good teams this season.

Although they came good in the third quarter against us, and out scored Port in the last half last week. Cause for optimism

Hawks have kicked 4 in a row taken the lead with 5 mins to go in Q3

I hate to say it, but Mitchell has the young Hawks playing a really good style of footy. Fast, exciting and daring. Having said that, the Lions' weaknesses are on full display - lack of defensive run from the midfield, a defensive network that cannot manage fast ball movement, and little physical presence.

People seem to think that because Melbourne has some weaknesses, we can’t possibly win the premiership. All teams have weaknesses – look at Brisbane now! Even if they get up to win it, they have still been put to the sword by an inferior team.

Sicily in trouble or football incident?

Collingwood, Port & Melbourne are the only 3 teams than win the chip this year.

you simply can’t win a GF with Daniher & Hipwood as your key forwards.

Not if Daniher keeps trying to take speckys in the ruck.

Hawks might have this

Gonna be a big scalp if they do Uncle.

I think he’s gone 3-4. That was nasty.

I’m not so sure, to me it looked like the second Hawthorn player that got tangled up in that contest caused  that violent ending to the tackle.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?

It was only a preseason match but the new look Demons spearheaded by new coach Steven King looked impressive as they put on a clinic against perennial cellar-dwellers North Melbourne as they cruised to an 80 point victory at Casey Fields.
