Do you know much about Logan Morris from Vic Metro, he is a friend of one of grandsons and was coached by my son in law in his under16 years and last year at under 18's?

He is a very exciting talent.  A high-leaping key forward with a lot of X-factor and a certainty to be drafted on footballing ability/pertformance.

Yeah

Younger brother would have copped a fair bit of punishment over the journey from big brother.

Would have to be a competitive beast to survive treatment from JVR.

They have a younger brother Ben, who is the best of the 3

Perhaps by us, we would have a selection around where he could be taken. Thanks for the info.

Jordan Croft looking like a very good key fwd prospect for the Dogs so far for Metro. Kynan Brown busy early.

Live stream of SA v Metro in AFL website now.

Our NGA prospect Orlando Turner is an emergency for the Allies. Hopefully he gets a gig in one of the games.

He played in the first one, did a few good things.

Have you seen Ben play?

I’d love for us to pick Sam VR. Imagine the 2 of them shredding the opposition together

Don’t think he’s playing. Did he play earlier?

Yes when he was about 12, he played up a year as a fill in against my youngest boy and was outstanding. Unfortunately he’s out for the entire season this year with stress fractures in the back

Young guns and father-sons fire at U18 Championships

Interesting to see how the two young guns from Tassie in the draft. Both Ryley Sanders and Coby Mckercher are first round quality. Both are exactly the type of players we would love to add to our list.  But clubs may have a rethink given the AFL Tassie push means that in 3-4 years they could just walk to the Tassie team with minimal compensation.

There’s only one game on in the national championships - we see Vic Country play their first game on Sunday and it’s against South Australia who were disappointing last week.

Here are two articles worth reading -

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
