Obviously, like everyone on here I think we’ll win, however I don’t think it’ll be as big as the North win. I’m expecting an 8-10 goal win.

Hopefully trac can continue his good form and keep kicking goals and also hopefully Clayton uses the ball well today and hits our fowards up.

Frost will go to JVR and try to unsettle him and try to suck him in,hope our blokes are ready to give frosty a touch up

I was going to post some interesting points, about our defenders and how they will get to play their preferred game, about the sheer weight of class, power and stamina in our midfield, that Sicily will be forced to play tight on Fritsch and that won't work anyway (like making Lever play close on Hawkins), about the probability of Van Rooyen dominating Frost and of our pressure game causing a whole bunch of their young players to be second-guessing and rushing directly into our turnover traps...

But, in summary, I'll be watching this game expecting to see an impact crater when the dust settles at the Hawthorn footballish club.

I'm going in hungry.

Dumb question. Home & Away membership get's into the game using Melbourne membership, yeah?

even just a home membership does because it's a "replacement" game for our "home" game in alice

did you like the brass band reception, mac?

I'm not as optimistic as others on this thread - I'm expecting a 15 goal win.

With all this talk of a potential goal-fest I’m SO glad I’m not on flogging duty today. My biceps still aren’t talking to me after last week’s match. 😭

beautiful day for footy, shame it's not a 2:10pm start

I hope there’s not many ppl staying away because of this. That’s the very definition of a fair weather fan.

There will be a lot of fans on flogging duty tonight at the Carlton game @WalkingCivilWar - have no fear.

Get out the pop corn for the Saturday's late matinee at the 'G  folks...

As free as the grass grows at the 'G

Born free to follow your heart's desire

As free kicks may blow your way

As the grandstand surrounds you

The game still astounds you

Each time you look like a star

Stay free

Where no AFL tribunal derides you

You're free as a rising star so there's no need to bide time

Born free

Seasons in the Sun are worth living

But only worth for giving

Cos you're born free

Hawks have a couple of players back after resting Bruest, CJ and Mackenzie. So they won’t be as insipid as last week.

expect a decent contest in the first half then a 10 goal better second half

Do it for May. Hopefully he can get into some form too

I was watching his highlights from 21 and some of 22. He is clearly hampered.

I’m sure he’s had plenty of practice

It's funny, I used to kinda enjoy "Frost Ball" when he was with us because it enjoyable seeing someone from our club take the game on. Now I enjoy it even more as an oppo fan because I'd say the success rate is below 50%, and it's utter chaos to the point it unsettles his own team. It's exciting and exhilarating when it comes off, but most of the time it's just insane!

I would imagine Frost will be going to JvR, it could actually be an interesting match up. Frost has speed and strength, but JvR is pretty smart for a young pup so I could see him running rings around him if given the chance. I would love for him to kick a bag today.

The GameDay thread is only up to page three. Where is everyone today?

I think Frost has gotten worse but I always he thought he was a good player for us. Yea sure sometimes he turned it over but overall he was pretty good and your right it was exciting stuff.

Well, it would be unseemly to have 20 pages of everyone just chanting 'Kill. Kill. Kill.'

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
