Amidst all the excitement of last night, Stewie Dew quietly stinks it up again. You've got to admire how he goes about it. The supporter must surely be frustrated by now.

Touk Miller. Love his determination but so wasteful and turnovers killing his team. No look kicks or handballs are surprising for a player of his experience.

A team with skilled players, but misfiring, can look terrible. One metre handpasses to feet, handpasses to players about to get cannoned into the ground, etc.

Imagine what this guy could do in a better midfield in a team with better system.

Does anyone honestly still think 19 or 20 teams is right way to go for the good of our competition?

We need to start thinking about first and second division, with promotion and relegation, as RL and RU die and their juniors switch to our game.

St Kilda have looked more impressive than Carlton and yet Carlton are 3rd favourites to win the flag.

Aside from Sam Walsh, Carlton aren’t getting any better while the Saints have got some big guns to come back.

If St Kilda beat Collingwood next week, I’m declaring them a premiership chance. It’s not as if they’ve fallen over the line in their 4 games, they’ve completely blown their opponents away by the final siren.

What you've described is exactly why Carlton are 3rd favourites. They've not played particularly convincingly and are 3 wins and a draw from a reasonably tough opening month.

Good maturing teams stack wins when they aren't humming, and the Blues are showing some good signs of maturing.

They were easily top 4 on quality last year...as odd as it was for Collingwood to win all those close ones it was equally as odd for Carlton to lose as many close ones as they did.

They'll be top 4 this year and a serious serious chance. I would not want to play them in a final. If they Breakeven in the middle, Charlie and Harry win them games and pretty much no team can mark them both. Their flanker types are developing around them, and their defence is very good with Weitering and Young taking the next step.

They have every piece in place IMO and just need to manage their year, manage their timing and find momentum at the right time. Easier said than done but they will be absolutely thrilled to be unbeaten with very little fanfare or noise.

Swans v Port

1. Ollie Florent. You are a star. Great game. Love your run and skill. But you’ve got to kick the distance to win it.
2. umps somehow got Port back in it.
3. Franklin on his last legs surely. Sad to see him goalless and benign.
4. Allir Allir. The last gasp save. How the story goes!?!
5. Duursma and Butters. Love to see them in red and blue.  We were super keen on both but not in the draft to grab them.

I saw the match very differently to you Spirit. Felt Swans had their normal leg up for most of the night

Saints v Suns

1. Saints on a roll v bottom half teams. But they’re impressive so far even without Steele and others

2. Suns. Horrendous.  Ben King. Marshmallow.  Rowell. Looks lost.  Dew must be on his last chance.
3. Mitchito Owens has the energy and desire missing in the Suns. Another NGA steal.
4. Noah Anderson is a star. Tried and tried. Ned Moyle and Bailey Humphrey on debut showed hard edge and determination.
Others failed to support.

5. umps failed twice to notice Saints clearly running in the protected zone. Clearly.  One of the bizarre AFL rules that’s totally inconsistent across every game.

Agree on the night around the ground but two decisions in the last quarter presented Port with 7th and 8th goals. Both were hardly there.

Whenever they decide to fold, I would like first dibs on Rowell and Touk thanks

They are destined for Tassie.

Because Alir hit the ball away before it got to the goal line and the goal umpire saw it.

BTW in that last kick, Buddy pushed Bergman in the back and you can back it in, that if the ball went through, the umpires wouldn’t have called the free.

ah i see. would have been handy to see a replay after so i knew! took a full 10 minutes to show it. amateur broadcasting as usual

He should never play again!!! If he does that’s sheer madness. If tonight’s event doesn’t spell the end of his career, what will it take?????

looks bad alright. but i reckon the decision is his and his doctors to make. it’s his livelihood and passion. not easy to give away even when life threatening

See buddy's blatant push in the back? If the umpires had eyes that worked, would that be a free kick if it's after the siren?

He’s lucky in that he has a choice. Cancer sufferers (for example) don’t. I feel really sorry for him but it’s footy ffs.

Why are some coaches taking their kids into the presser?

Clarkson and Voss wheeled them in.

Why not go all the way and make it a true family event and bring in brothers sisters uncles and even neighbours.

AFL is going down the drain. What a joke. Its run by amateurs.

I think they may have been kids from the Royal Children’s Hospital that support those respective clubs.

Sam McClure would for sure

And Derwayne, who knocked us for drawing about 28000 against a new interstate side, think it was Giants, at about 4.00 on a Sunday, could have even been Mothers day and then said absolutely nothing, about Port at home drawing about 8000. He is of course an ex Port player.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
