We need condenser  mics amongst the journalists to be able to hear them and dynamic mics for the coaches and players.

SM57’s ideally for that 1970s look.

I'm so glad I threw that out there for the other audiophiles!

Definitely SM57's for the coaches, timeless mic!

Give the journos a Blue Yeti to fight over 😝

Brisbane might just be the flat track bullies. Love it on their home deck, in humid conditions, but fail away from home. They also greatly benefited from a weakened Melbourne team last week. I guess Fagan will complain that the extra thirty seconds the dogs had, as the first team out after half time ruined their chances. I hate both sides, and that game was a stinker

I bought a couple of Russian Oktava condenser pin mics about 15 years ago for I think $450 for the both of them. Still use them to record with now and they’re probably my favourite microphone, in saying that, I’d be willing to donate them just so we can hear the bloody journalists on the post game interview!

I've got one. Good ordinary mic.

Observed. Internalised. Just knew something would activate the snotty-goblinized 'string-pullers' and their attempts at showcasing.

Yep, and he popped up across the game in isolated spaces quite regularly. Kicking, passing and backing-up have definitely improved and he seems to be on his way to some valuable consistency. Happy for him, a really nice fella underneath, as well.

Yikes. Hideous deal. That’s a sackable offence for a list manager

What I’m most looking forward to this weekend in order of preference (aside from our game of course)

1.     JVR debut

2.     The Western Derby #deathride (would be no.1 any other weekend)

3.     Geelong going 0-3 (more of a wish this one. Come on Suns)

On point 3 BDA , David Swallow becomes the first Sun to reach 200 games...a mighty effort.  Some extra incentive to knock off the Cats.

So does this make us feel better about beating the Dogs or worse about losing to the Lions?

I dunno, it's just a result I'm leaving it at that. It's a two team sport and teams will beat each other, onward and upward.

The second biggest dilemma the maggots will have all year. They knew that they had to give free kicks, but they just didn't know to who. The biggest one will be which Collingwood/TWSNBN players

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
